She was his first assistant. Then Carey Lowell. Then Angie Harmon and now Blondie

Now Jill is on Crossing Jordan and surprise surprise, Chris Noth is guest starring!

It's such a great show that one doesn't mind all the changing of cast members.

There is something quirky about this ADA Rohm. I just can't see her in the role for some reason. When Angie Harmon came in, it looked like a natural position for her, same with Carey Lowell but this is different

Elisabeth Rohm is just awful. She isn't even attractive (she has the "Joker" smile). This has definitely been the weakest season of L&O yet. The funny thing is that it is getting it highest ratings ever.

Jamie Ross (Carey Lowell) was always my favorite ADA. She was hot and she seemed to fit the role best (especially age-wise). There was a lot of conflict between her and McCoy. However, I did like Claire and Abbey as well. They were different characters and they each played off the McCoy character well in much different ways.

I really miss Steven Hill as well. It was a small role but he was great.

I really like the Det Green character. It took me some time to get used to him, but I like the fact that he and Briscoe are not exactly buddy-buddy.

Rohm is the weakest link on the show by far, that's why I just end up calling her 'Blondie'. I think this is why they've started giving her more. Although, we don't know much about her personal life as we did with Jamie and her child.

If it is getting it's highest ratings now it is funny because at this point, not much is going to beat West Wing Emmy-wise.

I'm sad because I haven't seen that much of Nora lately. She seemed to have a better written role last season.

I do enjoy the strange tension (work related, of course between Lennie and Ed though.

You guys think we could get a petition started to get Carmen Electra in as the ADA.

Law & Order 11/14

Whoa, momma. Definitely a great episode. A little slow going in the beginning but the ending hammered a good one home.

I wondered if this was portraying the case of the woman convicted in Missouri of testifying the accuracy of the fingerprints (or lack thereof).

Lennie's a great guy to tell your troubles too

lenny's one liners are great, like the one above, and "punching the clown"

tonight's was interesting. glad to see the prosecution "going after one of their own" so to speak, shows that McCoy really is out for justice, not just convictions

I gottasay he's the reason I watch the show even if tonight's one liner's weren't that biting from him. i really liked Wiest's "Well, it's time they cleaned house".

I agree. I was almost afraid they were going to lose this one because of all the lack of standardization in fingerprinting. McCoy is really good when he gets on a role too. i'm like "Yeah! Kick their @##"

This was the best one of the season. As a huge Law & Order fan, I have been disappointed with it this season overall (especially with the performance of Elisabeth Rohm).

I actually thought they might avoid using the 'terrorist' angle this season but it looks like next week they will capitalize on it via cyberists.

Alas, I will watch it faithfully anyhow

Law and Order 12/19/01 - argh!

< rant > I really like LO because of its plot lines. But, last night's rerun really had me screaming at the tv. It was very contrived. The setup with the murders was good. The buildup was ok, but the trial was a sham. Every move was so unrealistically slanted towards this defendant. The DAs were made to look incompetent. There was no way a man accused of 4 murders and with a history of flight risk could be given bail especially when there was a video tape of the murders. Oh, yeah, let's have a STUPID brain dead juror fall for the defendant and the two of them sneak off and have dinner and do a bit of jury tampering. Let's have a defendant testify and give opinions while he is acting as his own attorney. No defense attorney could argue and be allowed to bring to a witness stand, a witness who they know will lie about an alibi. The judge was so biased. ARGH! I really hate the setup with the juror tampering, the judge who was so unrealisitically slanted towards a defendant and the stupid ending. This is by far the worst L/O , I have seen < /rant >
I thank you for your attention.

Just to let you know, this was based in part on a famous case from Canada about a female juror who began a romantic relationship with a defendant.

Frankly, I liked this [repeat] episode (far better than any of this season's episodes - of course that ain't saying because the new ADA is simply awful). I agree that it stretches things, but technically the defense lawyer never saw the tapes - he simply argued against their introduction because of the illegal seizure. Therefore, he could put the defendant on the stand without techincally knowing that the defendant did the crime. I do agree about the bail issue.

12/26 Law & Order rerun

I never saw last night's episode before last night. I was trying to remember though, what previous episode the defense lawyer was on? Wasn't he a defendant before? I seem to recall that he represented himself, but I don't remember the circumstances. Can someone please jog my memory? Thanks.

Senator Fred Thompson replacing Dianne Wiest as DA on Law & Order

http://www.tvguide.com/newsgossip/in...s/020815.asp#C

REVOLVING DOOR: What would a new season of Law & Order be without another cast change. Actor-turned-Republican senator Fred Thompson is poised to replace Dianne Wiest as the show's district attorney, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Thompson's term as Tennessee senator ends is January. Prior to entering the political fray, Thompson appeared in such films as The Hunt for Red October, In the Line of Fire, Die Hard 2 and No Way Out.

I love this move. I was never a fan of Wiest nor her character. I have always enjoyed Thompson's work in the few films that he has done.

Too bad they could not also replace the attrocious Elisabeth Rohm.

The rumors I've heard is that his character wins the DA election against Nora (Dianne Wiest). His character is supposed to be a political conservative, so look for numerous clashes btwn he and McCoy, who is more of a moderate-conservative.

I love Wiest, but not that character. Can't wait to see Thompson in the role.

Thank you!!
I really disliked Weist in that role, it just never fit well (to me). The chemistry between McCoy and Nora was non-existant and Rohm, well she sucks.

Hopefully Thompson can bring back more of that verbal sparring chemistry that McCoy and Schiff had. But Rohm will still suck.

I shudder to think how bad Rohm replacement will be, Jack's assistants get progressively worse.

Sort of. Jamie always will be my favorite. I love Carey Lowell. Claire was my 2nd favorite. I really liked Abby as well.
The main thing I liked about them was that they were very different characters and I think each of the 3 ladies did an excellent job with them. The L&O hard core fans really bashed Angie Harmon (not as much as Rohm) but I think the problem was that they were not used to seeing such a hard ass female character. Jack was to the political right of Claire and Jamie, but Abby was significantly to the right of Jack. I think that was a bit of shock to the system.

With the latest ADA, you not only have a bad character, but you have a bad actress portraying her.

That's the other problem with Rohm. She is not only a lousy actress, but she pales (literally and figuratively ) in comparison to Jill Hennesey, Carey Lowell, and Angie Harmon in the eye candy dept. Plus she has that Joker mouth.

Wiest never defined her character. I think Thompson will be great. It's certainly a step up from "politician."

I don't think anyone will ever replace Jill Henessey... they really shouldn't have killed her off, I'm sure she would love to come back since her career went nowhere...

Oh... as for DA, the old guy a few years back was my favorite and I didn't like Wiest's caracter.
