Yeah that bites. It doesn't look promising that he'll stay which is a real loss. He's the only one who is trying to do something different in late night. I'll miss him more than Letterman at this point. Craig and Geoff are the best.

By far my favorite late night show and hosts. I will definitely miss them if they go, but I'm okay with them going out on their own terms and not fading away.
I will not watch Chelsea's show.

For what its worth the Hollywood Reporter says it was a meeting with their syndication group and not a discussion about the 12:35 slot.

Re: The Craig Ferguson Appreciation Thread
And regardless, Craig's made it clear this isn't a passion of his. He won't fight to stay, or whatever. I think at this point his leaving next year is a given, and it'll be a damn shame. Whoever his replacement is won't be able to touch this version in creativity, quality or humor. I genuinely believe that in years and decades to come, thanks to the birth of archived video on the web, the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson will become an underground beloved cult sensation, and he and Geoff recognized as the best this genre has ever seen.
It's just a damn shame that recognition won't come whilst he's still on-air, because this show is massively underrated, underappreciated and far too unknown.

Sucks if Craig is done with The Late Late Show as he's one of my favorites along with Conan and probably has the most unique show of any of the current late night shows.

The only late night show I will actually watch from time to time. It's not that I don't like Kimmel - I do - and his show is better than the others. But Ferguson's show is the only one that isn't nauseatingly banal. If he leaves, then there were none.

I'm kinda bummed Letterman is leaving (even though he's not as funny as he was circa 1994-95), but Craig leaving will make me give up late night talk shows completely.
Craig *always* makes me laugh.

I'm not a fan of Ferguson, he's quirky but something about his delivery doesn't work for me, however I actually hate Handler so that doesn't work at all.

Re: The Craig Ferguson Appreciation Thread
Okay, so I was looking at the guests on the talkers next week? And I noticed Letterman is hosting Stephen Colbert next Tuesday. Normal enough, welcoming the heir apparent to his new throne. Weird thing was, the guide data says "TV Host (or whatever terminology) Stephen Colbert. TV Host Robin Roberts. Musical guest, whoever."
I couldn't have even told you what morning show she hosted before Googling, so I clearly know very little here, but it's rather odd. Is there any chance - any chance at all, whatsoever, the smallest of possibilities - CBS/Letterman hasn't accidently or coincidentally scheduled the two together, on the same night? That they might be putting on the new face of late night together?
Of what little I do know, she's more newscaster than entertainer, so I can't imagine there's any possibility she could be getting the 12:35 spot after Colbert. That said, given Dave is hosting Colbert that night, it's a big show and huge moment for late night: the first official passing of the guard. A. I'd halfway think they'd have Colbert be the only guest for the full 25+ minutes. B. Even if they did have a second guest that night, Robin Roberts is sort of an oddity. You've got another TV presenter & host coming on, someone whose morning show isn't even on CBS, on that night of all nights?
Strange, although I'm sure it really is just a coincidence. I hope so, at least, as I'm still hopeful for years of Craig & Geoff after the Late Show with Stephen Colbert (The Real One, not that fake guy.)

Craig made so much fun of the rumors last night on the show that I really don't think there's much to it. He even had JRT call in as Chelsea as a goof.
That's as much fact as anything else at this point, but at least it's coming from someone in the mix.

I also don't think Craig really wants to keep doing this gig much longer anyway. Unlike Kilborn, who was the only person who saw himself as having much talent, Craig can do a lot of things really well and he probably doesn't mind at all leaving the 12:30 show. Who knows? Maybe Letterman will work out a deal that allows him to stay. It sure sounds like Worldwide Pants will be production partners with Colbert, as Letterman owns the Late Night show and name and CBS has already stated there won't be a name change. I certainly don't think they'll be forcing Ferguson out the door.
Handler is no guarantee to do better than Craig and CBS knows that. She put the picture on her twitter to just create more buzz, which makes me hate her even more. She's just one of several names they have in mind in case they do make a change. From what I've read, NPH is another name on the list. I have nothing against Seth Meyers, but if he can just swoop in and beat Ferguson's ratings, then change is probably worth trying for CBS. And, like Robin Roberts, Neal Patrick Harris will also be on Letterman next week, and it won't be to announce he's the new host of the 12:30 show. Just a coincidence except for Colbert and that should be a fun interview to watch.

I think I saw a few eps of Kilborn and was always baffled as to who thought this dude was funny.
Shit, Tom Snyder was funnier. He even told a few good dirty jokes I still remember to this day.

Yup, writing was on the wall, especially with him hosting a syndicated game show soon. It really doesn't surprise me but it is definitely disappointing.

That's a damn shame. I was worried about this happening with Letterman stepping down from his spot. I wonder if Craig will look for another network or if he's done with the late night gig.

Damn. In total, I've gone to 20 tapings of The Late Late Show. The majority of which in the old smaller set. I'm really going to miss him on television as he's fantastic.
Fuck.

That sucks. Now I wonder if that Handler rumor was true after all.
I'm gonna miss the great camaraderie of Craig and Geoff and they're crazy phone calls during the tweets and emails segment. His show really stood out as something different in the cookie cutter talk show universe.

Is Graham Norton stepping down or something? Actually, I thought Craig would be great a doing a weekly Graham Norton type show on BBC America. He's already got the Doctor Who connections going on. I'm sure it would be a big pay cut but if it was only once a week he could still do something else with his time.
