Re: The Craig Ferguson Appreciation Thread

I had no idea he went to Scotland until I read my Tivo guide a minute ago from last night's show.

I am pretty excited. Like that he has a bigger group w/ him this time.

Re: The Craig Ferguson Appreciation Thread

You guys must not have been watching for months because Craig's been promoting it for quite a while now.

I fast forward through most things and watch only certain interviews. I often delete entire eps based upon the guest list.

Ditto. I actually have stopped recording all of them, and just record those that appeal to me based on the guest list.

BTW, any good opening numbers lately, aside from the Scotland one?

These are nowhere near as good as the Paris ones.

I swear Ariel Tweto makes Zooey Deschenel look like Taylor Momsen, except I'm more willing to believe her whole adorkable routine.

Re: The Craig Ferguson Appreciation Thread

I have been saying the show should go to Scotland forever. He finally does, and I don't even realize it until I catch last night's show halfway through. DOH!

I LOVED what I saw. Better than Paris IMO.

Mila Kunis is resplendent. (And she's definitely Tyra)

Re: The Craig Ferguson Appreciation Thread

I loved the bits where Craig and Michael Clarke Duncan were in the classroom at the high school and they kept pointing out the references to black people. The teacher looked quite uncomfortable at times.

And good on Craig for somehow getting Mila Kunis and Rashida Jones to come along. Ariel Tweto is a lot of fun as well.

I guess I'm in the minority b/c I find Ariel Tweto annoying. She's just too stupid. I liked the rest of the week though.

I really enjoyed her previous guest appearances in the studio. I can see why she is one of his favorites to bring back on occasions like these.

Kunis doesn't offer that much either. Besides the obvious.

The thing with Mila is that I get more the sense that she's playing along and having fun. A good example, at least from my perspective, was that Tyra Banks thing when they were trying on kilts. Mila was playing along; Ariel didn't really understand.

I think Mila and Rashida came off the best and most natural on this trip. MCD was occasionally funny, but it also felt like he was trying a little too hard.

The first 15-20 minutes of nearly EVERY Craig Ferguson Show is solid gold entertainment with all the back-and-forth with Geoff and the opening/mail/etc...

Rarely is there a guest that is completely dull that makes me want to not watch. Craig will anticipate this and turn it around.

I can't watch other shows like Letterman, Leno or Conan unless there's a specific guest on I want to see. I watch every second of Ferguson and the shows fly by way too fast.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned the excellent band, The Imagineers that Craig showcased all week long on the Scotland shows. Really good stuff. I think they could break big. Too bad they don't have an album to purchase, only an ep. I especially liked the extended version of the Late Late Show theme they did over the end credits. Was that always their song? Or, did they just make up new lyrics for this show?

Me too... stopped recording around April? and just started watching this again. When did Craig start dressing all fancy and stuff? He's wearing 3piece suits and has his tie done up all proper.

Just seems weird, almost like he's gone all white collar or something.

Re: The Craig Ferguson Appreciation Thread

The new set is pretty cool if you ask me. It's quite a bit larger which was a bit odd to see at first, but still has the same classic feel (the set is largely re-used with some add ons). I like that Secretariat has his own little stable now . Geoff's line "Secretariat looks like a serial killer" cracked me up too . Kristen Bell as always was great too and it was fun seeing Regis pop in.
