at the glorified Q-Tip. Too bad she wasn't better looking - one of the guys would have partnered with her.

Glad the pillowcase person went with Damon. Can't stand the QVC woman.

They need to do a segment with where-are-they-now Cuban face-palm pass-and-offer-from-others deals.

I do have to wonder why no vitamin company has marketed an oral spray. If it's such a great idea, how come Centrum and One-A-Day aren't selling it?

probably for the reason why Nature's Made wanted to license it. They don't have the production facilities and don't want to assume risk for rolling out a new product like that. instead, they get guys who can already do it without betting the farm on it. i do love that Lori got screwed with that buyback offer. that guy was brilliant to ask for that, since he knew he had a product they wanted. so if this takes off, she makes some money, but he'll be able to buy back the company and ride all the way to the bank.

mr. wonderful was on fire this episode. i also love how mark simply hates any homeopathic/natural shit. everytime i see one of those companies on there, i love to see how he just goes after them.

Re: "Shark Tank" (ABC) - Series Thread

Add the oral energy spray to the "Shark Tank products I would buy." That energy spray turned the Sharks into hyper lunatics. Robert was extra loony and he wasn't even in the deal anymore.

GREAT episode. The Sharks were pissed off about something because they were extra feisty tonight. Damon and Lori go at it (and Lori's dig at how outdated FUBU is was especially nasty), Mark and Robert attack O'Leary, everybody was after everybody.

Lesson learned: don't offer the sharks caffeine.

In Shark Tank's defense, technically the whole show is just one long infomercial. I thought it was poorly done, but if you're going to do a lame plug for a product, this is the show to do it on.

That last couple needed a strong punch in the face. Holy shit they were annoying. Also as Brandon Jacobs as a celebrity endorser. Back up to the back up rb who played his first game of the year yesterday.

That was the cringeworthy moment of the season: "You better be working 16 hours a day like we do." As if Robert would ever spend even 16 hours total with these people. I love how she clearly thought just her charm alone gave her permission to be a total bitch to them. And the guy was clearly whipped. There was a definitely a reason they haven't pulled the trigger on marriage.

And was Kevin serious? Does he actually have the authority to perform a wedding?

BTW, is it THAT hard to make a delicious tasting energy product? In two episodes, we're 0 for 3.

Re: "Shark Tank" (ABC) - Series Thread

So I missed the part before the first commercial break since my stupid ABC affiliate once again preempted this in primetime for some movie I've never heard of and aired it late night and their schedule didn't exactly match my DVR guide. What was the big deal about that lobster roll truck? There's one locally here that everyone raves about (it is very good and I'm sure they make serious bank), but I can't imagine a shark investing so much in one since there's presumably so much competition in metro areas. Plus there's also more and more regulatory backlash against them.

at that hippie. Yeah, I'm also surprised he's not a festival guy.

The name of that sports drink is horrible. I think of the N-word when I see PRO NRG.

The cousins' selling point is that they were selling lobsters in California one day after being pulled from the ocean. I guess it usually takes longer?

Those things would make bank at festivals like Bonnaroo and Coachilla but it is very easy to ignore your business at those places and just get fucked up.

that and that they were Maine lobsters, which apparently the people who run the export of which are some sort of cabal.

Re: "Shark Tank" (ABC) - Series Thread

FYI...an additional two episodes were ordered, bringing the number of episodes this season to 24.

Last Friday's show was also the highest-rated episode of the season, and I think may have also been the most watched episode of the entire series.

That's impressive considering the DC affiliate didn't air the episode unti the middle of the night.

Yeah it was a Series High, scoring a 2.0 in the demo w/ 7m viewers is no small feat on a Friday these days, the show has grown itself very well.

I can't remember anyone doing so. His deals are usually garbage compared to the rest and the only time I can even remember him being chosen was when the entrepreneur had no other choice.

It's possible that he's really just not all the interested in doing any deals unless they are heavily in his favor but enjoys being on the show still. Kind of like the opposite of those people that come on the show solely to promote their product without actually looking for a deal.

Off the top of my head, I know he did the Talbot Teas deal solo, and he got Cuban to go in on him with that lock system you use with your phone. So it's not as if he's just sitting there doing nothing. But I agree that his offers that are good deals are few and far between.

Keep in mind he is also on the Canadian version of this show, Dragons Den. From what I've seen on that show he does a lot more deals and isn't as much of an ass all the time. I think the Shark Tank producers tell him to be the 'mean' one and that often translates to awful deals that make him look cutthroat and greedy.

Believe me, he's an asshole on both shows, and on a third show where he co-hosts a daily business wrap-up and analysis. He seems to be an odious prick by nature.
