I missed most of the cheater apps guys pitch but man did he look unprepared, but seemed like he was at least surviving. It's funny you had the polar opposites on this episode - a very prepared man with no real product (Alpha M) and a under prepared guy with a solid one.

I'm surprised the guys didn't recommend opening multiple shops to the Ice Cream folks, do something like edible arrangements.

The Cheater App guy reminded me of Aziz Ansari.

Yeah at first he just seemed like a guy that would get eaten up in there or a guy that had no real desire to get a deal, just the promotion that comes from being on the show. But he pulled it off, it was impressive.

Anyone else see the inherent flaw in this app though? If your significant other just sees the app on the phone they'll know some shady shit was going on.

Well, yeah, if they saw the show and knew the name of the app. But if they didn't, I'm sure they wouldn't think a second thing about it. My wife has never even gone though my phone apps either. Not that she would have a reason to do so and she's not a jealous person or anything. Since people usually have many apps on a phone, it would be easy to explain it away as something, too.

Barbara actually made a really good point about how to use the app, but once Kevin threw out Noel Biederman's name, without actually throwing it out there (*cough* Ashley Madison *cough*), you knew that was where that dude was headed.

I think Mr. Wonderful and the app guy were stunned when Barbara made an offer.

And it's priceless that Mr. Wonderful is close friends with the Ashley Madison owner.

I don't have a smartphone, but can't you just change the name of the app on your phone or stick it in some folder (like on a computer) so it's not readily viewable?

Throw it in a utilities folder, nobody would ever look in there.

I can really see that personalized ice cream thing taking off if they did it as a store front or drive thru operation. Pull up, make your ice cream, a few minutes in the blast chiller and you're on your way.

Apparently it has a Stealth Mode that operates in the background with no visible icon.

With a more prepared pitch he could have easily gotten more money or had to give up less equity. The sharks basically had to lay out his own business model to him and how the product could be used in the marketplace.

Sharks might regret passing on the hippie cookies. Hippies spend tons of money on crap like that. I figured Barbara would be all.over it.

I found it a little refreshing for once to hear everybody fawning over someone's food product, and then suddenly O'Leary blurts out "I don't think they're very good" and there's only a weak-hearted attempt to argue (with Damon deciding he didn't like them either.) The product is all marketing, but even with that, the retail price was WAY too high.

Interesting show tonight. Shark Tank usually has a formula of last pitch is strongest, then first, and then some wacko is second or third. But they switched it up, because I thought Rock Bands was the second best pitch, and there was no really wacko, just the diaper woman who let the competition walk all over her. Even in her closing remarks, you could tell nothing was going to change.

I liked the Rock Band guy because he reminded me of Tim Tebow.

Those were so fucking stupid... it's basically a pet rock you wear like a watch... that's something I could see maybe... maybe being popular for a couple of months, but it's not something that seems like it would have legs.

I can't believe he sold any at that price. Over $100. I was dying to see him get shredded when he mentioned the "healing powers" of the rocks, but he basically said "people are idiots, but I'm not selling on that point, it's the style and name."

I love how the woman kept saying things like "you're trying our gluten-free chocolate". Yea, no shit. We get it. You two mentioned it about a thousand fucking times.

That's one thing I can't stand about vegans/veg-heads: they will constantly remind you how "pure and wholesome" what they eat is.

Those cookies looked like they barely had any flavor. I'd rather drop $4 on a pack of Chips Ahoy.

That's my guess, the guy claimed he owned the Rock Band trademark for clothing products. Mr. Wonderful was hoping to sue the videogame manufacturer who markets Rock Band the videogame.

If you think Chips Ahoy are valid alternatives for the cookies from the show, then I guess they didn't mention the gluten-free enough, because you still didn't get it.

Re: "Shark Tank" (ABC) - Series Thread

Yeah, I thought the cookie people were the only ones that the sharks SHOULD have made a deal with...I don't even know why they were bothering considering any of the others. Then again, maybe that cookie guy really WAS a good salesman, and the sharks picked up on something that wasn't as obvious to the casual viewer. I'm assuming they get a lot more info about the company than what we see on TV.

Good to see the cold blooded sharks give a nice family with a good product a chance.

The Zomm alarm keychain is a great idea. I get that the numbers are way out of whack so the sharks stayed away but I can see myself buying that product.
