and i know it's debatable, but i don't think nathan counts because he should be able to heal since he got adam's blood, right? i know someone earlier questioned whether the tranfusion would be a one-time thing or whether it would last, so i guess the writers have to come up with an answer for that. but i'm assuming it will fall under the latter because i doubt they would kill nathan off.
overall, i thought the ep was pretty good. the whole destroying the virus was kinda anti-climatic. i would've enjoyed a good fight scene between hiro/adam again. i know it technically wasn't intended as a season finale, so perhaps they were storing up the budget for the actual season finale, but i want a big blow-out brawl at SOME point in the show. the little uses of powers here and there are cool, but not really enough.

All told it was kind of a waste of a year. Granted the writer's strike didn't help, but it was set up to a whole lot of nothing. Sylar was lame. The two banditos ended up going nowhere. Claire was lame. Peter spent most of the season acting like a moron. The show did get better as the season when along though so I'll keep up with it whenever it comes back.

I'm satisfied with this episode if this is the last one until next fall. It wasn't a spectacular arc, but I'd watch the entire thing again if they end up showing the complete "volume" in repeats come January...

Anyone else consider the possibility that the shooter was flying boy?? He doesn't want his secret exposed, he made that clear to Claire. He could probably fly to the location of the press conference fast enough and get away equally as fast.
Could be an interesting conflict, being that he just killed Claire's real father.

I was thinking after watching the episode that except for the return of Peter and some minor bad guy organization stuff, you could go from Season 1 to Season 3 without missing any plot points, I'm sure. Season 2 didn't bring too much to the table.

The person walking away had to be someone who could turn himself invisible!!!
It was in a police station there was a wall of uniformed cops - and this lone figure could just walk out.
It was either future Peter, or the guy who trained peter.
1) Thanks Writers for making sure that 2 hated anchors ... errr I mean characters make it into next year (Mya and St Joan - what a useless character) and get rid of 2 characters Super Strength and Flying.
At least we still have Super Dud.
2) If you want to bring Sylar back, just do it from the start of the season!
This "Season" Sucked - I hope the ratings plummet for next season! - these ass hat producers and writers were trying to be the Anti-Lost, but they followed down the same exact road

I thought it was a good finale. I was a little puzzled when Nathan and Matt arrived in Odessa and Hiro came out and yelled "Flying Man!" Matt acted like he'd never met Hiro before......I could have sworn they met in the finale last season.
I have to say that Nathan's speech was such a cliche-filled diatribe. But, the ending was pretty solid.
So, if this strike ends this month, I heard it would take at least 4-6 weeks for some shows to get production going again. Plus, they would need to get at least 6 episodes in the can before hitting air. So maybe we could see Volume 3 in March at the earliest I would assume?

Positives
The Death Of Nikki.
The Death Of Nathan.
Veronica Mars face turn.
Negatives
Adam deserved a much better end than that considering he was the most intersting character this arc.
Not enough characters killed off.
Making Sylar the new head honcho bad guy again.
Mysterious hitman is the lamest screenwriting plot device since Amnesia..wait a minute.....
Overall the past 3 episodes have been twice as good as the 1st eight. I'll give this arc a B-. Not as bad as everyone says...but not good enough to warrant an automatic season 3 renewal of my viewership.

My SO and I were watching Peter straining to yank the safe apart, and she wondered out loud, why didn't he just walk through it??
Similarly ---> dude, give Nathan some of your blood. You have healing power, hello??
Elle-->"He won't be hurting anybody anymore"
Shyeah, he looked like you mussed his hair pretty good there, cookie...

Well, I think the shooter was Noah (HRG)... It'll be interesting to see what Claire thinks of her Dad killing her ummm Dad?
I didn't notice the dagger in the vault, but that is pretty interesting and will be cool if they follow through with Monica ending up with it.
Overall, it was a pretty decent ending and I hope the online comic continues and that the Live Action Internet series are interesting...

Overall, I enjoyed the episode. Regardless of all of the possible plotholes, it's still a fun way to spend 60 minutes a week watching a show that doesn't take itself too seriously.
I think the shooter was just a stuntman. You obviously cannot tell who it was and I think the powers that be did it this way because it gives them a few different options to mull over while the strike is going on. They could make it be anyone next season - Noah, Claude, Sylar (perhaps he runs into another time-traveller in the future and stole the power), Peter, West, or someone we haven't even met yet. It's also kind of a nice mystery to let the fans argue about in between seasons.
I think if Adam can't breathe, oxygen doesn't reach the brain and thus, it dies. Essentially it's a "cleaner" way for him to die since he can't get his head blown off or "Highlandered" while in a casket. Either way, the brain dies and so does Adam.

first of all if peter read victoria pratt's mind to find out where the virus was howcome he did not read adams to find out what he was really up to?
second, it seemed like peter was being brainwashed/manipulated by adam with commands, he tried to kill hiro, someone he knew well.

The only backgrounds we get more information are with Hana (ability to speak through internet from Season 1), a little background (generic) information on Eden and more information on how Linderman and Pa Patrelli know each other. It's definitely worth a read but just be careful before dropping $30.

I don't think the blood permanently gives them "immortal" status, though I wonder how long someone can be dead for it to take effect... HRG was dead for a while before he was brought back.
How could they tease us with the shooting of Maya? So close...
Mohinder is still dumb as a brick (come on, man, secure your laptop!), though I guess he did know that the company had surveillance cameras in his lab (though they obviously don't have enough staff to actually watch them). Makes me wonder why he so openly talked to HRG over the cell phone earlier, though.
Peter could have easily done what his brother wanted and shown his powers. Why not shoot all of them? None of the security guards even tries to go after the shooter?
HRG makes a deal with the company in exchange for protecting his family... but his family is still in plain site, and can still be used against him, so what did he really gain? And where did that Haitian disappear to?
Do you really want to try atomizing a deadly strain of a virus in the palm of your hand? Isn't that symbol really Kensei's symbol? It must mean something more, though, since it showed up here and earlier when Peter healed his tattoo (at the time, I thought it meant Irish girl was part of the company).
What was up with that long montage of images during the speech? I guess it encapsulated the season, but I wonder if that was put there to fill in time because of the changes made due to the strike?
