Of course they are going to release the full season in December. This 4 episode "Premiere" DVD was just some stupid gimmick to get some extra cash on those episodes.

I have a question/comments on something I haven't seen mentioned yet.....
So, we learned that there are still 4 other "visitors" (suitcase nukes) in Fayed's possession. My question: How does he plan to detonate them? He orchestrated all of those small spread out attacks in order to get the guy who could re-program the triggers out of the Palmdale facility, and he was obliterated in the blast. To any of the viewers' knowledge, he was only working on the one bomb that ended up being detonated, while Fayed cut out to the safehouse with the other 4.
Are we to believe that he reprogrammed the triggers on the other 4 first, or what? I have no problem suspending belief with this show, and I feel that way too many people are too anal about things on here, but this seems like something that even this show wouldn't overlook. Not with all the lengths Fayed and crew had to go to in order to get the guy out of custody.

Pretty sure he's dead.

I enjoyed these last two nights, but this isn't shaping up to be my most favorite season. It seems like a more polished season 4...
1. Multiple terrorist attacks that start to get a little numbing.
2. An indecisive president. (And, unfortunately, Wayne Palmer lacks both the charisma of David Palmer and the love-to-hate-him persona of President Logan. I thought Wayne played his part well in Day 3, but so far, he's not been a very interesting character as this season's President.)
3. Terrorists with information that would be helpful to CTU are always killed rather than injured/captured.
4. Instead of Edgar acting all crazy over a terrorist killing his mother, we've now got Curtis playing the part.
5. Instead of a nuclear reactor melting down, we have a nuclear bomb detonating. (And just like in season 4, this creates problems storywise since the terrorists have now won. Since the bomb has gone off, what else can the writers do to top it and keep us on the edge of our seat?)
Personally, I would like to see a season of 24 where the threat is much less severe. Enough with the nuclear bomb bit. We saw it in seasons 2, 4 and, if you count that hijacked Russian sub last year, 5 as well. (Although that sub may not have been nuclear. I may be wrong on that one.)
A season based on Jack running for his life from the Chinese can be even more thrilling than a bomb detonating every episode in Los Angeles. Not sure why the writers always opt to go over the top. If they don't scale things back next season, I'm not sure what else they can do besides having terrorists take control of the Death Star.

I'm sorry, I can't help it, but I have to nitpick about the escaped terrorist/nuke expert going from escape at 8:59:59 to walking into the terrorist HQ at 9:09 looking much refreshed with new set of cloths and then having the balls to say "I had to be careful crossing the city".

I had to reassure her that it was in the '24' universe and that she was lucky.... this time!

Hey, some people just don't like American Idol (myself included).
Though, I may do the unmentionable tonight and watch the first hour of 'not so good singers' before I switch over to 'The Unit'.
Chris
p.s. yes, I know that isn't what you're referring to, but the timing was excellent!

I agree with many of the other posters that nothing came as that big of a shock to me after seeing the repeated postings about what a huge shock there was going to be in the last 5 minutes. I think Curtis' death was more shocking than the nuclear blast. Poor Jack!
Great start to the season, but after getting four hours in two days, it's going to be tough to wait until Monday for another fix.

I knew he was dead. They wouldn't do that crazy dramatic music and Jack freakin' out if it "was only a flesh wound." And this is 24, once someone is dead, almost always, they're DEAD! Basically the opposite of Alias where you know if someone dies, they'll come back...

20th Century Fox Licensing & Merchandising and McFarlane Toys announce a licensing agreement to produce action figures based on Fox's multiple Emmy®-and-Golden Globe Award-winning Drama -- 24.
Two figures of the show's hero, Jack Bauer (played by Emmy® Award and Golden Globe winner, Kiefer Sutherland) are currently in production. Both are packaged as boxed sets and re-create scenes taken directly from the action-packed drama on Fox.
"Without question, 24 is one of TV's biggest cliffhanger programs," says McFarlane Toys' CEO Todd McFarlane. "Kiefer Sutherland does an amazing job as Jack Bauer, the biggest reason people tune in each season. I know a lot of our fans will be excited to hear about us making figures of one of TV's top action stars."
"All of us here at Fox are genuinely excited about the upcoming 24 product release from McFarlane Toys -- Todd and his team have built their reputation on bringing innovation, creativity and magnificent attention to detail across all their intellectual property offerings. says Michael Peikoff, vice-president of domestic licensing for 20th Century Fox Licensing & Merchandising. "The passionate fans of 24 will not be disappointed and are eagerly awaiting this product launch."
One of the most ground-breaking, thrilling and acclaimed television dramas, 24 follows twenty-four consecutive hours in the intense life of Jack Bauer, a maverick anti-terrorist agent from the state-of-the-art Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU). Each episode covers one hour of real time and each season's unique storyline unfolds in one heart-stopping day.
McFarlane Toys' first 24 action figure is expected to hit store shelves in August, with the second scheduled for holiday season 2007 release. Check back on Spawn.com for more information as it becomes available

I think you could make a great college class and what the real policy/procedure would be for many of the ethical situations that the characters get into in the 24 universe.
