IT's bullshit though...the muslim in the detention center who palmer's sister's friend helps, turns out to be a terrorist thereby excusing the actions of the guards and also excusing the actions of putting all the muslims in a detention center. The muslim neighbor almost gets his ass kicked by the paranoid rednecks but is saved by the family across the street and, of course, he turns out to be a terrorist...If anything this show is putting across the message that muslims shouldn't be trusted and i think it's enough to make me stop watching it...

Did anyone else notice that in Ep. 1 when they came back from the 1st commercial the time jumped an extra 3 minutes? By the end it was off 9 minutes from real-time. i was a little disappointed in this and always marvelled at how it really did reflect real-time hours. by the end of hour 4 i think it was reduced, but still...
Also, do we know if
Spoiler:
Curtis is dead?

anyway, great opening. i love how after 6 years/days they can still keep the same basic premise fresh and new and this season thus far is no exception. great programs on every level!

The show doesn't claim anymore that "events happen in real time." It now states that "The following takes place between XX and XX."

Did you see the same episodes I did? When was Walid shown to be a terrorist?

Those of you who know me from the Politics sub-forum know that I'm fairly liberal, but I can't see the criticism about '24' being a right-wing show. I've actually been impressed so far with how balanced it's been in presenting the difficulties faced by each side. After all, Jack killed Curtis to save a known terrorist. Walid, a Muslim chooses to stay in prison so that he can uncover more information from the prisoners about the terrorist plans. Peter Nicols character is clearly a hard-right winger and he is hardly portrayed in a good light. I think the writers are doing a good job of writing a FICTIONAL story and trying to represent a complex scenario. Do some Muslims get portrayed in a bad light? Yeah, but there are some Muslims in real life who aren't good people. Just like there are some Americans who aren't good people. 24 has those people too.

It's a TV show. Every nationality, at one point, has been shown as bad.

Kind of a shitty way for Curtis to go though. I liked his character and hated that the writers made him so weak as to give in to his urge for revenge.

I finally got to watch these first 4 episodes, but I just wanted to say....YES.

I did think it was funny though that Jack was running away from Fayed and his men and all the time saying "We need Assad - he's our only link to find Fayed!" Was I the only one scratching my head at that? I was like, dude, you just ran away from Fayed!
