Nobody said a thing for this ep?!
Granted, I only managed to get to it last night, but I thought it was a very strong episode.

I think we can all say we saw the Nina/Jake relationship coming to where it is at some point or another. I was very good to get some more backstory on Jake as we did not really know much about his past. Rather funny with the "ex" though - especially the scenes between her and Nina. Thought Nina was gonna lose it though when she started talking about choclolate fountains and rice crispy treats.

Was actually glad to get a break from Erve and Edna. That storyline, while good, just seems to slow things down at times.

Tom Amande's did another outstanding job in his talk with Amy. The thing is - while he can be soap-boxy he is usually right, but in a caring "i want to look after my family" way.

I don't dislike the chemistry between Hench and Williams, but the lady kinda irks me. I think the situation tha they are in is what is eating at me. I'm on the fence as to whether this gets resolved in Feb or May.

The Ephram being supportive routine was getting old due to the whine factor, but he did have a very good point with Amy about her being good at whatever she does and not needing to worry about wheather she makes the class or not.

On a side note, did anyobody else pick up on them saying the auditions were in a week, and then 3 scenes later she was back for auditions??

I wasn't all that crazy about Amy's quest to do ballet after a 2 year hiatus.

Jake's "girlfriend" was just a little too over-the-top for me, even if she (Jessica Collins) was Tru's older sister on Tru Calling. At least Jake and Nina cleared the runway, so to speak, even if it took Nina to do all the work.

Andy handling of Delia's entrance into womanhood left to much to be desired. What a clutz he be.

Looks like Bright and Hannah are just hanging out in a more natural manner, without all that external manipulation at hand.

Hated the Andy and Amanda scenes, it's so wrong, and beneath Andy, but I guess that's what makes him human and not super-virtuous.

I still haven't watched the shows I recorded Sunday night, let alone Monday night.

The new season of 24 makes it "must-see" HDTV for me, so I don't watch Everwood until late Monday night, or Tuesday.

Bright and Hannah were funny durin that opening sequence.

And then Bright's comment about consoling Amy because he knows all about failure.

Tru's older sister did a good job of getting on my nerves.

I don't like where they have gone w/ the Andy and Amanda story either - although I think Anne Heche is doing a good job on the show.

I didn't notice it when I started this thread, but when the opening credits were rolling I noticed David Paymer was the Director.

Nina held up the mirror of truth and he still can't get enough of Amanda. Oh well, Andy's ethics have been overwhelmed by his little head.

Amy and Ephram are horrible at ditch days. They are much happier in structured environments. Thankfully Bright, being much happier in less-structured environments, comes through with the fun. Hannah finally spills the beans about her situation with Bright and Ephram, though it was to elicit pity, and she was mad at herself for letting it happen like that.

Can't say I like Jake and Nina hooking up either. Oh well.

Except for Dr Abbott and his Mom reconnecting, this had to be the worst episode in Everwood's two and a half season history.

I'm in the camp that believes that what Andy and Amanda are doing is wrong and I really can't see why Andy is doing it... why does he need her? That's what I don't get.

Nina and Jake being together is just plain creepy... ewww.

The ditch day was a throw away... but snagging Bright out of the office was a nice touch.

Next week though...

I liked how both Ephram and Andy were playing hooky, and how Harold got stuck having the day from hell.

Ok episode...nothing great.

Since when did Bright become my favorite character on the show?

Not a classic ep but still good fun. I don't think what Amanda is doing is "wrong". Amanda transformed from a wife to a nurse over the years caring for her husband. I can understand how she could still love him (and you've got to give her that, if she didn't she would have threw him into some kind of nursing home ages ago) but still be ready for a new relationship.

Andy's side of things is a bit more dicy.

I agree, she is really damned either way. If she divorced her husband, that would be seen as abandoning him, but by staying married she is "cheating". It seems remaining married and caring for her husband is the responsible thing to do, and she should be allowed to have companionship as well.

Now if this was a soap opera, her and Andy would fall deeply in love right around the time her husband has a miraculous recovery.

So we are accepting of situational ethics when it comes to the usual marriage vows of "in sickness and in health, until DEATH do us apart"?

I thought the highlight of the ep was Harold and his mother teaming up again and the kiddies getting Bright away from his grown-up life.

I didn't think I would like the Hannah character when they added her to the show earlier this year, but the character has really grown on me and she has meshed well w/ the other three.

Yeah, umm, I feel sad for Amanda, it's a very hard life for her, but it doesn't give her some "back door" to stay in her marriage but cheat on her husband. What if he were lucid but confined to a wheelchair with some injury that still prevented sex? Where's the line where it's "OK" to have "companionship" with someone?

Other than that, OK ep. I don't have a problem with Jake and Nina, except for the fact that Scott Wolf is still not believable in this role, IMHO. Just to young and dorky-looking. He makes an otherwise-pretty Nina seem old in comparison, when they're in close-frame shots together.

You see that too? Bothers me to no end. Though I think Scott Wolf is fine in the part, he does come off as a 25 year old.

I can already tell where this relationship between Andy and Amanda is heading.....

All I have to say is that Bright is the bright spot of Everwood. The way he got through to Hannah was priceless. But I had to laugh out loud when Ephram gave his description of Bright being hollow when Amy was blaming him for Hannah's condition.

As much as I hoped you were right djones6746, I was suprised that they threw the whole 'we were on the edge of divorce' angle in there to smooth things over between the two.

As for the Nina vs. Jake angle... she's scared, but Jake's realistic.

Looks like next week is the kicker...

Bright has been the best part of the show since the beginning of last season when him and Ephram became good buddies, imo. His scenes w/ the other three, particularly Hannah, were very good.

I don't care if they throw in the divorce angle, I still don't like that story - I wish they could have used Anne Heche in a different story, because I think she is doing a good job on the show.

I shed happy tears during the Bright-Hannah scenes. Hannah calling Bright on his lovable narcissism had me howling with laughter. Good stuff. Damn, overall, this was a good episode of Everwood, and it was all about relationships and the fears that come from being involved, and overcoming those fears.

It's weird since Bright started on the show being a grade A dick, but he's damn near the most likeable person on the show to me now. His scene with Hannah was really nice, one of my favorites of the season. It's nice to see his character growing while still staying true to his playboy mentality.

"You could be talking about 4 or 5 girls right now." heh.

I'm not to thrilled of how neat the Andy/Amanda business is starting to get. I like that business murky. Also Amanda's kid came around way to quick even if it did make for a nice scene ( his acting was really good).

With the novelty/newness of Lost/Desperate dying down a bit for me, this show is starting to be the one I look forward to most week after week (along with Veronica Mars). It's all hallmark card and warm milk with a side of that premium WB brand of angst...gotta love it.
