A fantastic episode, and to top it off, Tom Amandes directed this episode, and he did a nice job of weaving through the 4 main subplots without a mis-step.

I did figure out that the classic mis-direction of Hannah's results would mean she'd test negative. She was really great in her short scene in Dr. Abbott's office.

Bright is still a playa, who knows when he'll get his crap together.

I guess Amanda and Andy got none of what they expected from their hookup, but Amanda gets her family back, and Andy gets another feather in his medical cap. Just glad they dealt with this subplot so that Andy can really get put through the wringer in the next major storyline that will feature the results of covering up the Madison pregnancy.

Ephram's world is going to exploded very very soon, too bad we have to wait until April after next week's episode due to Summerland filling in the timeslot.

Amy, Amy, Amy, it's almost unfair to put such a lass through so much in 3 years. Emily played Amy's emotions just right in those scenes at the end, heartbreaking stuff.

What a fantastic episode. I was on the verge of tears a couple of times but remembered manly men like myself don't cry. Some really good scenes here: Hannah/Dr. Brown, Bright/His Moms, Amy/everything. This show is just so damn good.

BOO! for Summerland taking it's place for a month.

I thought the idea of bringing in Hannah was such a bad idea at the beginning of the season...but she's really blended into the show so well. I don't know how they're going to pull off the college thing next year, but I hope she's back as a regular.

Wow. I just finished this ep and am amazed at how good it was. It's funny - years ago I used to be all over preview for the following week, but now I try to avoid them whenever possible. Given that, I was plesantly surprised at this episode. I suppose I saw the Hannah test coming, but I really thought she had tested positive with the beginning. Given the amount of shows I've seen over the years I don't even take "misdirection" for granted. I seem to always be secondguessing myself.
Anyay, I really hope Tom Amande's gets a Emmy by the time this series is done. Week after week he puts in solid performances. And yet it seems at least once a month he outdoes himself with another pivotol scene.
Also, as much as I felt Amy had been whinny the past few weeks she was superb here. I for one never thought Amy would find out before Ephram and have to carry that burden, even if for only a few weeks (??).
I'll just let Chris Pratt's performance speak for itself. Interesting thing about mamma A's response is we know Bright better than she does and yet she blames herself and him...

GREAT episode. So many things happen, i feel so bad for amy and efram.. just as things are getting good between them, madison comes back into the story. Was a really good scene between hannah and dr. abbott in the office. Glad to see Andy Brown and Amanda be broken up though.

Excellent ep all the way around. Andy/Amanda finally come to an end.

Amandes did a great job directing this ep! And both he and Emily Van Camp were great. She was really good upon hearing about Madison and how she handled Ephram.

Bright continues to be one of the best characters on the show - loved his reaction w/ Hannah at the end (of course she was "negative").

Kind of glad we didn't get much Ephram this ep. Same goes for Jake/Nina/Edna.

I never noticed that the Abbots were Catholic before - have they ever hinted at that on the show before? I don't recall them doing so...

I'm not sure they ever hinted at being catholic, but I do believe there have been some episodes (first season?) that showed them attending church. it's possible that Hannah is the one who is catholic, and Dr. A and Amy just went along.

It sucks that they left us hanging like that. I hope by Spring they mean like a couple weeks. Fuck.

Anybody else have a feeling that the series will end with Irv saying, "I finished the last book in the series." Then he'll shut his laptop and the TV will go black.

So I'm guessing they're going to pull a Dawson's Creek with the college angle. Ephram, Delia, and Andy move back to NYC. Amy goes to school in NYC. Bright figures he's got nothing better to do and moves to NYC. Harold decides to give the bagel business another try, and figures it can work... in NYC. Madison's in NYC.

They pulled this midseason cliff hanger type of thing last year too.

Oh, well, with Summerland returns, that leaves my Monday nights open to do other things, as I don't know if I can bring myself to watch 7th Heaven again after the musical episode.

If everybody moves to NYC, it wouldn't be Everwood anymore!

But grasshopper, Everwood will always be in their hearts.





I can't believe they are going to leave us hanging for at least a month.

Bright brought the funny w/ the "kind of like an RBI for me" comment.

I was happy to see Sarah Lancaster back. They needed to get this secret over with. And I was sick of waiting for them to do so.

This was such a cruel, cruel cliffhanger (probably about 6 weeks long).

The way the writers weave the familial connections between Andy and Ephram, only to blow it up once Ephram finds out what Andy did, was pretty heartbreaking stuff. Rocky road ain't just an ice cream flavor.

I didn't like that Madison just happened to be in NYC at the precise spot where Ephram decides to show off his chops to burn off some nervous energy. The laws of happenstance were stretched with this bit of "coincidence" to amp up the dramatic overtones of the new situation.

I was very happy to hear Irv's narration again, and finally the writers tie the earlier seasons of narration with Irv's book. But he can't have finished the book, can he?

Speculation: I am guessing Ephram blows the audition once he finds out what happened, and that blows any chance of Andy returning to NY.

The next new Everwood episode is scheduled for... Monday, April 18, 2005.

I had no problem with Madison showing up like that. Coincidences happen in real life a lot.

So what will Madison's revelation to do Ephram and Amy? Any predictions? I think this time around, Ephram will become the one withdrawn, where as before it always seemed to be Amy who would become withdrawn, and Amy will have to work to pull him out of his funk.

My prediction... and I really mean it.

She had the baby and gave it up for adoption.

My reasoning, they already touched on the abortion issue a few years ago, and they really wouldn't want to touch on that again... plus "taking care" of a problem between two major characters like is a cop out. I think that after Ephram finds out he's gonna go ape and try to find/see/take responsibilty for the child. As calhoun07 said, Amy and Ephram will switch roles as to the depressed one.

This episode was so stalled out it was garbage. A very down year for everwood. Madison's return was interesting. but the producers were stalling to make it last two episodes is a joke.

as someone who lived in worked in new york, one thing is certain she did not keep the baby, she either had an abortion or adoption. she looked to good for someone who just had a baby so I guess an abortion. You do not run to nyc with a baby to live, Too expensive to live there. total stall job.

Yep, I believe that's the direction they're going to take.

I hope so - it would be so out of the norm for a tv show that it would be most welcome.

I can't believe that Madison was going to tell him right before his big audition. COuldn't she have waited a few hours? That really made me me hate her.

How on earth will he be able to focus on his audition after hearing that? Whatta bitch.

Even Amy felt better when she knew that Madison knew he had an audition; she assumed that she wouldn't tell him before to ruin it. Amy assumed Madison was a better person than she really is.

I would have thought Andy would have plead with her to wait until after the audition to tell him.

I'm surprised that he didn't, too, seeing as that particular audition is what they have been working for the whole time and one of the main reasons why he w/held that little nugget of information from his son.
