Oh, I don't know, Vahalla as a "Violent Tendencies" waitress was rather cool I thought!

Season finale for SG: Atlantis next week? Huh?

Epsidodes 0301 - 0308 have aired, and Episode 0311 aired tonight. What did I miss with news of this season?

I was completely taken surprise by the ship captain biting it. None of the secondary characters are safe.

It does seem like the stakes are getting higher. That guy along with the other ship Captain from the season 9 finale. Looks like we'll be seeing a new recurring character.

Could really care less about the Lucian Alliance B plot though. =/ "Now we're at war." K...

I guess it goes to speak just how boring the "season finales" were that a day later and just one five word post about both shows. Really though, omg, a dragon! And wow, Atlantis has weapons that cause replicators to break apart. Man, they sure are in trouble. I thought both cliffhangers were utterly boring.

I didn't mind the Atlantis finale - I actually think it would have been better if the storyline started earlier. Everything just happened way too quickly for my taste. SG1 on the other hand, yea I'm not loving the dragon thing. You knew it was coming but still.

Atlantis was much more entertaining, the gate bridge was a cool idea. But, the actual cliffhangers in both episode weren't very.....um....."hangy".

Well, SkyOne has been playing the remaining SG1 episodes for S10 and the series finale was yesterday.

[Series Finale Spoilers!]

Spoiler:
I know that they're doing a couple movies to wrap up the series, but that resolved nothing! In fact, it raised more questions than it answered. But, the final scene was a nice send-off.

The Asgard were "disposed of" far too quickly for my taste. I would've preferred a two parter with this episode as the second and the first was on the Asgard homeworld.

Can't wait to see the reason the Ori could track the tech so quickly, and whether the Asgard tech makes it's way to the fleet.

I'm sad to see it go.

I watched all of the 2nd half of Atlantis and SG-1. You guys will be VERY disappointed in Atlantis, out of the 10 episodes there were only 3 good ones, and the bad ones were boring as hell. On the other hand, SG-1 was excellent with maybe 8 good episodes with a excellent series finally.

bad Atlantis, good SG1? Nothing new there.

So, they decided to cancel the better show of the two. Everyone makes mistakes.

Any spoilers in those links? I know what I read before (kinda wish I hadn't) aludes to the fact something doesn't happen throughout the remainder of S10 in SG-1.

Still another month until they are back on over here.

Not sure why they waited so long to bring them back - last year it was Jan/Feb if I remember correctly.

Well, hopefully S4 of SG-A will be better. I was hoping this year would be better, but it looks like S2 was the best so far. So many of the characters are garbage. At least Shep and McKay are good. Pretty much everybody else is worthless and very underwritten. I think if they ditched Taila it would see a marked improvement.

Checked Sc-Fi's site to see when this starts back up(4/13). Apparenty Amanda Tapping will jump to being regular on Atlantis next season after SG-1 ends.

I'm really going to miss SG-1... I've liked it much better since the Ori/Browder reboot than I did in the seasons following Jackson's return.

I imagine Richard Dean Anderson will be back for the movies and they'll focus on the original cast more? I wonder if Ben & Claudia will still have roles to play in the SG-verse or if they're done for good. I'll enjoy seeing Tapping as a regular on Atlantis, tho I can imagine McKay's drooling will get tedious quick.

Good news to hear Tapping will jump shows and while I really enjoy the occasional McKay/Carter interactions I agree they will have to tweak that relationship to keep it tolerable for a whole season. It might be a good opportunity to dump Taila, but I 've vaugely recall rumors that:
Spoiler:
Torri Higginson will be leaving the show. But I'm not sure if that has already been debunked or not. I know she is in all of the rest of this season.

However, it is definetly not a rumor that: (major spoiler)
Spoiler:
Dr Beckett is killed in the second half of this season. Which opens up some casting room.

Besides Tapping, another addition to Atlantis will be:
Spoiler:
Jewel Staite as a reoccurring Atlantis team member. She appears in the season finale and one of the actors said she will appear in 13-15 episodes in season 4.

Oh, and I completely agree with you about the reboot, adamblast. Having a lead actor who actually appears in most episodes is a good thing, and when you have an action show it's also good when he can actually do action stuff. I love RDA, and for his age he did a hell of a job for 6-7 years, but they obviously needed a new lead. The Goa'uld were getting tired too.

I see they're keeping with their tradition of hiring folks from popular cancelled sci-fi shows. I hadn't heard about that "other" Atlantis addition.
Spoiler:
Firefly fans will sure love seeing Kaylee back in action again!

Your second spoiler really surprises me.

I rip on Atlantis, but actually I like watching it.

I gotta tell you, Stargate is the "Star Trek" of the 21st Century. The concept is so fricking great, and Sci-Fi excutes it "well enough" to make it work.

I love everything to do with Stargate, it really is the modern face of sci-fi. Devlin and Emmerich came up with such a f'ing great concept, they deserve most of the kudos, and Wright and Cooper get credit for not screwing it up.

So what did you guys think of the mid-season premieres? I thought both were a little disapointing but, that's probably just because there was such a big gap in the airing of the two-parters. I'm sure that I will like both episodes a lot better when I rewatch them on dvd in the future.

I thought they were both ok. Not great but I enjoyed watching them at least.
