There was one point during his performance with INXS where he had to run off to the side of the stage and grab a drink of water. But since I wasn't actually there to see ALL of what happened, I guess we'll never know.

wow this is the first time i've watched this show this season (I watched last season religiously because I dig INXS) and so far the first two people (the guy who did Bittersweet Symphony and the girl who did Call Me) were completely awful; by far worse than most of the bunch from last season. Ugh maybe there's a reason why I wasn't watching aside from it not being INXS.

The stares of these women are just so damn annoying! I don't think I liked a single performance tonight, and I generally am very easily entertained. Actually Magni was probably my favorite, and they bashed him, go figure. Lukas is a damn one dimensional fruit, and if Jason had his way I think he'd be gone sooner than later, but the rest seem to really like him.

I just knew she would bring it with with Anything, Anything.
Hopefully, she'll get the encore!!!!

Looking forward to the show in a few hours. . .
I've been frustrated with not being able to vote this season on dial-up at home because the page just does not load. I had 15 minutes at work today after voting opened on the east cost, so I voted for Phil (which I would do during my own voting time block if I could get on!) No, I don't need to see him to vote for him -- I'm a staunch dirtyPhil supporter. (Although I don't care for his song choice this week.)

The mainstream rock/pop made sense with INXS, but if Supernova is presumably a hard rock/metal band, why aren't there more hard rock songs for the contestants to sing? Where are the Guns n Roses/Metallica/Motley Crue songs? There's only so much anyone can do with Blind Melon.

I know the band is a good fit for what Supepernova is trying to do (I think), but I am sooooo sick of hearing a Nirvana song every week. Maybe it's because I could never stand them, but it seems like whoever has the rights to those songs now is a paying sponsor for the show.

I too am getting very tired with the lack of variety in the songs. But what I'm really sick of is the band harping on how they don't like a particular song. Who picks who performs the songs? Last year, it seemed like INXS picked the group of songs, but this year, who the hell knows.
Very few of these competitors have any real talent. Loukas has none. Dilana has none. Zayra has less than zero.
You know who can't play guitar? Gilby Clarke. Man, how do you screw up a song as easy to play as Brown Sugar? He wasn't even on time either.
This show is becoming closer to America's Got Talent than American Idol.

I'm sort of wondering if the band is even picking the songs given to the contestants, or if someone else is like the show's producers. They seem to hate almost every song and say it is not what they are trying to do.

I'm starting to get hte feeling that we may never actually see Supernova.
My guess is they pick someone and then have them record the voice and see if its any good. Probalby release it around xmas or in jan, see how record sales are before they bother going out on tour.

He has a new band (Panic Channel) that is about to release a new album in a couple of weeks. The band consists of Dave on guitar, Stephen Perkins (Jane's Addiction) on drums, Chris Chaney (Jane's Addiction) on bass and Steve Isaacs on guitar/singing. I'm a huge Jane's/Dave/Deconstruction fan, but I just couldn't get into the first single.

Oh, and about the show...
Lukas - Disappointing. He probably should've came up with a different arrangement, as his vocals didn't fit in very well. Maybe have guitars doing the string part? I dunno.
Zayra - Hot outfit, but her vocals are still sounding like a comically bad Idol audition.
Dana - The most rock she's sounded yet, as she finally loses some of that polished quality. Ironically, it was during an acoustic song. Oh course, it also makes her sound a bit more like the other females so she loses a bit of uniqueness there.
Patrice - Thought it was good but I agree with the judge's point.
Toby - Not bad, but I was hoping for a bit more range.
Magni - Quality performance. I don't get the guitar thing, unless you're doing a sit down acoustic deal. But I don't think they should've focused 100% on that.
Ryan - I laughed when they talked about him smiling then announced he would be doing that song. Vocals sort of dropped out at points, but overall sounded good, though.
Jill - For me it wasn't the grinding so much as she seemed to overbearingly hound Gilby in general. Band interaction is one thing, but she was stalking him onstage.
Phil - Weird performance. Intense psychotic glares into the audience don't really work with a Wallflowers song.
Dilana - Nice to hear her hippy-ish side. But she needs to remind us of her rock again soon, as she's been getting progressively gentler each week.
Josh - His tirade was odd. It's like he heard that comment about Zayra's outbursts being popular downloads on the web and figured he wanted a piece of that. Song was okay but I don't see what that has to do with their band, Supernova. (Sorry, wrong season...)
Storm - Liked the stage performance and the look, but her vocals are a bit one note for me.

I can't stand Jill and Storm for the same reason I couldn't stand Suzy McNeil last year. Their whole schtick comes off very fake to me. Even Dana seems more real. I guess I think like Gilby. Women singers do not have to push sex at all times. Dilana, although not as generally sexy, does a much better job of being a singer first. I equate the things Jill and Storm do to when Constantine on AI was constantly trying to appear sexy.
