Rock Star: Supernova

I sampled "the one", and it does not hold a candle to Rock Star.
I just wish this Rock Star house band made the jump over to American Idol and replace that crappy band.

Will definitely check out the rest of the episode later.

As for "Supernova". . .
I thought the worst last night were Toby and Dana, surprisingly.
I think my favorite, Phil, gets the encore tonight.

Dilana. Period. She is still the only performer up there that seems to have any weight and she's riveting to watch. Her vocals at times remind me a little of Christina Amphlett from The Divinyls (who did much more than just "I Touch Myself").

He needs to stop flailing his arms. It just makes him look goofy.

My husband finally nailed it:
"Lukas has a Clint Howard quality"

I think Dana looks like Jeanne Tripplehorn.
Jill looks like some chick Tommy Lee probably banged in the 90's.

FWIW, Sass Jordan was huge in Canada about a decade ago. She currently fills the Paula Abdul role on Canadian Idol. I'm sure that she must have a Greatest Hits out, and it would be worth checking out.

Can anyone provide a recap? There were some serious storms in the St Louis area and the local CBS affiliate decided to show about 10 minutes of Rock Star and discuss weather and what the anchors did this evening with the other 50 minutes.

Came down to Josh, Jenny, and Dana. Jenny was eliminated. Some how Zayra squeaked by again.

the right person went home tonight. jenny tried to be "harder" but she basically ended up looking like a poser. weak vocals, and what seemed like orchestrated stage antics.
i thought josh sounded great.

I don't understand why it sounds like Zayra's name is always pronounced "Siedah". Whenever Bwak Bwak mentions Siedah, I'm like "who?"
It's kind of funny that these performers keep doing Nirvana since didn't grunge effectively end the heyday of most of these Supernova guy's careers?

I also noticed that she changed most keys to A, which has a "happier" tone color than say D or E.
Either way, she should have gone. The other two really brought it, and she did not.

You could see Josh saving himself with that scream at the end. I guess the right person went but all three are weak. The young girl has pipes but she has absolutely no idea what anyone is talking about. "How can they say I don't rock hard? I PUMP MY FIST AND STOMP MY FEET!"

Dana can sing loud, but her voice is so un-melodic, it's painful to listen to her sing at times.
Jenny couldn't sing loud at all and was totally wrong for this competition. She needs to veer into the Adult Contemporary territory where you don't have to sing like a banshee to get noticed.
