gilby said it better than anyone could the other night. she's lilith fair, they're ozzfest (although they keep saying their band won't be a metal band... which again goes back to the main question - WHAT THE HELL IS THIS BAND GOING TO SOUND LIKE? NO ONE KNOWS! i don't think supernova even knows).
the riff they play coming back from commercials is supposed to be from a song they're recording, if i remember from the reality shows.
and i agree with what someone said about dana. she's just not going to cut it. she even admitted herself that she's a rock and roll virgin. stomping your feet does not a rock 'n' roller make. and her vocals are praised often (and they were good last night), but i thought she sounded AWFUL on the Bon Jovi song.
and again, tommy continues to look like an idiot. i'm not sure he's said anything worthwhile in this entire show. i didn't know much about gilby before this thing, but i'm liking him more and more every show. on the elimination show, he makes it a point to say something positive about the person, but also lay out where they have concerns.
oh, at least tommy does say some nice things after eliminating someone. the "it's just another time" is a nice sentiment. but yet again, INXS did it better last year. nothing's better than "you're just not right for our band" in an australian accent.
speaking of last year, i miss suzie, marty, and especially jordis. hell, even ty.

Nobody needs to see a bad Elvis impersonator singing Heart Shaped Box. Nobody.

Your husband listen or Howard Stern? Howard mentioned that yesterday on his show.

Dana just needed a rock makeover. It's too late now but if she would do somethign funky with her hair and wear some odd makeup then she would be one of the best on the show. I think she has the best voice on the show for the women.

As a fellow Georgian, you'd think I'd be rooting for Dana, but after hearing her sing for the past 3 weeks, I just don't find her vocals all that interesting or pleasing.
Does Patrice remind y'all of Suzie McNeil (last season), but with more darker hair/lowlights?

Jenny was totally out of breath after doing that one number -- no way she could sustain herself through a whole concert of "harder" music. I've never liked her, but she had some nice parting comments.

To get back to Jenny, I always got the feeling that she wasn't authentic, that she really wanted to do music closer to the "Lillith Fair" genre than rock.

Hell, man, if I'd just sung three times already, AND THEN found out I actually won the spot in INXS, I think I might end up a bit winded when singing again, too. Probably more from the shock than anything else.

you guys must not remember the episode. this was before they announced the winner, when it was down to JD and Marty. it was his second song of the night.

From Canoe.ca:
The Rock Star contestants are giving a big thumbs down to Supernova's debut single.
At least that's the word from ousted Vancouver singer Jenny Galt.
"A lot of people in the group are skeptical about what kind of music they are playing.
"(Supernova) say they want to do something fresh and new, but then the first track we got to hear, a lot of people were just like, 'Ew. I'm not sure if I like this,' " says the 29-year-old Montreal-born pop-rocker.
"It sounded just like that same old, boys rock 'n' roll kind of glam thing they said they weren't going to be doing. It was a bit surprising."
Galt, who was eliminated from the CBS/Global reality series this week, says the finalists are also questioning Supernova's commitment to itself.
Many feel its members, Tommy Lee (Motley Crue's drummer), Jason Newsted (former Metallica bassist) and Gilby Clarke (former Gun N' Roses' guitarist), are not exactly hellbent on making the band a success.
"Because Tommy Lee's got Motley Crue and Jason Newsted's very passionate about (Canadian metal band) Voivod, there are a lot of questions as to whether this band is going to really take off. That's up in the air," she says.
"And then, how much commitment do the actual members of Supernova have? There was a lot of chit-chat in the mansion about that."
While only time will tell if the finalist's concerns are justified, only one -- the person who is named the band's singer during the show's finale in September -- will truly be affected.
And that person, Galt says, will likely be Toronto's Lukas Rossi, Australia's Toby Rand or South Africa's Dilana Robichaux.
"When I first got there, I really had the attitude that I wanted to win. But then, as it went along, and Lukas, Dilana and Toby kind of emerged, it was a little hard for everyone else," Galt says, adding she hopes Rossi takes it, but not because he's Canadian.
"I think he's most suited for that particular band. He's got that arrogant rock 'n' roll personality about him and his style suits them."
While Galt was prepared to change her own style to fit into what Supernova wanted, she now admits she wasn't the best choice.
"I am a rocker chick to an extent, but there is a whole softer side to me. I have always loved playing a piano ballad to a room of silent listeners and, above all, I'm a songwriter. I want to release an album of great songs."
Galt, who once toured Canada with the band Cherrybomb, is planning to return home to Vancouver in the next week.
After that, she says she's going to take advantage of all the opportunities life throws at her -- no matter how scary.
"All my complaints in my life have been I want a bigger and fuller life. Now I've realized, through this, that it's me who's been holding myself back because I've been too afraid," she says, adding Rock Star changed her.
"It's not like I can flip this switch and I'm this crazy and wild person, but it's a path I'm on. Things from here on out are going to be very different for me."

Just watched Jenny get the boot. The right person went home, but I think they all did a decent job for a change. Josh must really love Nirvana to do another one of their songs right after one put him in the bottom three. He saved his ass at the very end.
Dana made a great song choice.
