There are Supernova songs? I don't believe it.

The music is already written. They've even showcase a few songs on the web-episodes.

They just need to lay down the vocals.

Spoilers from tonight's elimination show. Can't say I'm shocked by who gets to play with supernova.

Spoiler:

Sang with Supernova: Dilana

Bottom Three: Patrice, Zayra and Magni

What they sang: Patrice - Celebrity Skin by Hole; Zayra - a song by Blue October and Magni - Creep by Radiohead

Encore: Ryan

Who went home: Zayra

I hate Zayra, but I admit that song sounded quite pretty. I think Patrice is going home tonight.

Toby didn't sound good to me -- I am STILL waiting for him to ROCK.

Dave had a good point how Marty kicked ass with "Hit Me Baby One More Time" last season. Perhaps someone like Dilana could have taken "I Will Survive" and somehow put a great spin on it.

As least Lukas was a little better than with "Creep", though the smiling kind of threw me off. He still looks like he's pouting every time someone else gets praise.

Sarcasm my friend. Kind of like when Gilby waxes "I don't know if you're type of music is what this band is about". Who the hell knows what Supernova is about? I'd be surprised if even they did.

I didn't think much of the Supernova song, plus I couldn't really make out the lyrics with Dilana singing. Weird.

But finally, our national musical nightmare is finally over!!!

Every once in a while things come along that just don't make sense to me. I just do not get the love for Dilana. It's not that I hate her but I just don't think her voice has any range at all. All she has is volume control of the same voice. I do like her personality but I can seperate that from her singing. I really think the band promotes her even when her performances are not that great. Why? I have no clue. My ranking with 1 being the best and weaknesses listed:

1) Magni (May lack originality. Time will tell)
2) Toby (May lack a bit of intensity)
3) Lucas (Voice all over the place)
4t) Dilana (Not enough range)
4t) Ryan (Only good during intense songs. Can't do the casual rock song)
6) Storm (Over the top personality, performance, everything really)
7) Patrice (Blah. Not bad but not great)

It seems that I may not like women rock singers but I thought Jordis last year was one of the best.

All I can say is...yes, yes, yes - the right person finally went home tonight!

Oh, and that and I got it right, most of the rest of you wrong.

But, we can't all be right - there's no way in hell I would have thought Ryan would have gotten the encore. Hated his perfomance of "In The Air Tonight" just as much the second time as I did the first. So, to each our own is true, I suppose.

That's funny, just last night I said to my husband that Dilana is like the love child of Rob Zombie and Linda Perry (of 4-Non Blondes).

Speaking of which, surprised the show hasn't yet licensed that ubiquitous 90's hit, "What's Going On" for the rockers to cover.

I'm fairly certain that Suzie McNeil did it last year - so maybe they just haven't gotten around to using it this year, yet.

I really think that the good thing about Dilana is that she is distinctive, and hearing her, you would know it's her singing. No one else sounds like that.

I love Storm, but what's up with all of the reaction shots of her? She must have more camera time than Dave Navarro. Anytime someone gets told they are in the final three, they cut to her having a confused look, saying "WHAT???". Ditto when the person goes home.

As for last night, the wrong person went home. Patrice definitely should have been gone before Zayra.

I would have much preferred to hear that Supernova song done live. That was so obviously studio glossed & lip synched that it totally ruined the song. They even switched from videotape to film for that one song, which made it seem even more over-produced.

And what, did they license only about 30 songs this year? Why else would the two of bottom three try to save themselves with a song that has already been done? Both by Lukas no less. I'd rather just see them bust out an original.

Agreed. I would have been happy with another double elimination as well.

At least Zaraya has been doing different songs in the elimination round instead of being like everyone else and choosing songs that Lucas did a couple of weeks ago.

True, but imo Patrice and Magni did their Lukas songs better than he did.

Patrice was much better than Lukas, but I still didn't like it. There wasn't any energy at all with a song that really needs it. Plus, just remembering the words makes it better than Lukas.

Absoluetly not! On what basis? Zayra's not a better singer, and there's no way she would EVER have been right for THIS band. Patrice, in comparison, AND as the band themselves said last night at least has the potential to be in Supernova. Do I think she'll make it? Not really, but she deserves to be there FAR more than Zayra, on any given day. So did a lot of the others already voted off.

Zayra was a good at showmanship/performace/attire - I'll give her that. But if not for the "what the hell is this crazy chick gonna do next" angle, and just keeping her around to see - but all rights she should have been the second person voted off. Much like her, I'm still amazed she even made this far.

You are going to need to explain that. Zayra has been the worst contestant outside of Chris since day one. You can't understand her, her arrangements are awful, she continually does things that Supernova suggests she not do, she's combative and just plain weird.

If you are referring to the fact that there is clear animosity between Patrice and Dave/SN then ok, but anything else you will need to back up.

Watching Dilana with Supernova last night was quite telling. She certainly can head up this band and hang with the boys, no problem.

However, when those 4 dancers came out it hit me. This is a guy's band. This is a band that, for the most part, is going to appeal to the guys that listened to Crue, Metallica, and GNR. Are these guys going to be able to get behind a female lead? I don't know... As right as she is, I think this could be a major issue for the band long term.

I don't really see this being a long term band, so that shouldn't be an issue.
