Re: Disney+ streaming service

My D+ finally expired, it's the first time I've been without since the service launched. Hulu is about to expire too, and now I'm wondering if I should just do the 19.99 no ads bundle, the Hulu plus Disney Plus (w. ads... yuck) or just wait until black friday to see what they'll offer (or wait to see what they do with the app merger).

I did the $20 deal yesterday…just tired of dealing with it all.

Can someone tell me why I’m paying $29 for Disney plus ($11) and Hulu ($17.99)?

No, seriously. How much is everyone paying?

Good question as the 'Duo Premium' bundle (Disney+/Hulu no ads) is $19.99/mo per their website.

Thanks to my Verizon plan I pay $6/mo for the ad free upgrade to Hulu. Disney+ (no ads)/Hulu/ESPN+ are included in my plan.

Yeah the 19.99 is the way to go. For some reason they almost hide that as an option (there are graphical representations of the other bundles but like a small text blurb on the very bottom for just ad free Hulu and Disney for 19.99)

Well they much rather you have the ad "experience" now than ad free. But it doesn't seem that hidden... just click on 'View All Plan Options'.

of course this debacle caused my subscriptions for the trio were all cancelled and i couldn’t get in. Took another call and me actually yelling, which I truly never do (side effects from medication) to fix it. Yelled to 2 different service reps with different companies. I seem to get annoyed very easily. Again, from meds. Prednisone is an evil bitch of a drug.

Re: Disney+ streaming service

So, put on Hulu and it’s the ad version. I always had the ad free version. After a 40 minute call at 9pm est it’s finally resolved. Fuck!!!

Couldn't quite remember how I had my account, so checked it. I subscribe to Hulu (no ads) for $17.99 and I have Disney+ as an add on for $2.99.

Re: Disney+ streaming service

My bundle price is now $24.99 and I just used my final $9.99 off AMEX credit for November.

I can live without ESPN + I am a sports fan, but hardly use it and now with the AMEX credits gone, the $24.99/month 3 bundle is not worth it to me. I'm going to change it to the D+/Hulu bundle.

Re: Disney+ streaming service

Hulu hub now appearing on Disney +. beta launch

But you have to be subscribed to both services with same email. It’s not free.

Re: Disney+ streaming service

I just checked Disney + and the Hulu hub has indeed shown up. It does say "Beta" on it. I read that not everything is there yet. It's a slow rollout until March.

Same here even though I sub to Hulu but D+ is an add-on.

Re: Disney+ streaming service

I have Disney+ with no ads and Hulu with ads. It's interesting how the Hulu hub through the Disney+ app can still recognize the level of sub you have and play ads.

Re: Disney+ streaming service

It’s still getting those shows from the inferior Hulu server also. The Disney+ Kodi addon which I mainly use can’t access the Hulu content currently but does access Star from other countries when using the VPN. Prey is still only in 5.1 sound through D+ on Hulu but in Atmos through Star. Dancing With the Stars is on both Disney and Hulu but the same episodes play in 60fps through Disney and only 30fps through Hulu. Likely they’ll be merged at some point and some tech people will be out of jobs then.

Re: Disney+ streaming service

I cannot get the Duo Premium through Hulu. They told me I have to subscribe through Disney. Will my access to Hulu still go through my Hulu app and it’s knows? Or will I have to do new weird account stuff? I will use same email info, etc.

Re: Disney+ streaming service

As long as it's the same account/email you will have access to both apps plus the Hulu tab in Disney+

Yeah you can get the ad version of the duo thru Hulu but the ad free is only thru Disney+.

Re: Disney+ streaming service

Yeah it's a unified Disney account (as long as you use the same email) which you can also use for Disneyshop, Marvel Unlimited, etc.

I still think it's weird that the ad free dual bundle is only on one service, and then tucked into a corner, but oh well (clearly they want people to take the ad versions... even as an add on to Hulu, you can only get Disney Plus with ads)

Re: Disney+ streaming service

I let my ads free trio bundle (Hulu, Disney+, and ESPN+) expire and I signed up for Hulu and Disney+ ad free for $19.99 through Disney+. I don't really understand why it's Disney+ exclusive and why you can't sign up for it via Hulu, but it was relatively simple to do.

Re: Disney+ streaming service

I did the same.
Five bucks is five bucks and I will never watch anything on ESPN.
When I got the "Welcome!" email with the link to activate Hulu, the link wouldn't work. I had to go through Disney+, down to Account, and activate Hulu from there. Not sure if Hulu is using my Hulu password or my Disney password. But I'm in.
Definitely weird.
