When I got the "Welcome!" email with the link to activate Hulu, the link wouldn't work. I had to go through Disney+, down to Account, and activate Hulu from there. Not sure if Hulu is using my Hulu password or my Disney password. But I'm in.
Definitely weird.
I used to have separate Disney+ and Hulu passwords, but they made me merge them all into one password a few years ago. I had to activate Hulu from Disney+ too.

I just changed my plan to the Disney Bundle Duo Premium on the D+ app as well. Have no use for ESPN+.

Verizon just sent out a price increase notification on the non-current unlimited plans ($4/per line) but no changes to the perks. The Disney bundle (with ad free Disney+) is still included. I'm really surprised they didn't also take the opportunity to downgrade us to the ad supported version.

That is good news!

I still need to get with them on paying the extra money for the Hulu w/o ads plan.

Re: Disney+ streaming service

They just updated their Terms of Service to prevent Account Sharing. Here's what it says:

I use my Disney Plus all day at my office to entertain kids in the waiting room. If I have to pay additional fees for a second stream, I could do that (if I have to), but I don't want my account suspended. Not sure what they're planning here.

Disney+ reportedly lost 1.3M subscribers worldwide in the 4th quarter of 2023

https://www.comingsoon.net/tv/news/1...UuOmIJoP3kDc2o

In the grand scheme of things it's not a lot, but I know money might be getting tight for some people with all the streaming price increases. And I'm sure that many only care about "New releases" and churn once they watch them all.

The Marvels and Assembled: The Making of The Marvels are now both on Disney+ today for those who missed it late last year.

The documentary is about 1 hour.

god damn the ads are horrible.

too many, too long.

I get it in a bundle with Hulu but it has made this platform unwatchable.

They lost subscribers but their strategy narrowed their overall streaming losses by 300 million so at least in the short term, raising prices (and cutting content) worked. They're on track for profitability by the end of this year. I'm curious how many, like me, just dropped core Disney + (where these losses are found) and picked a Hulu bundle, since Hulu went up by... 1.2 million subscribers, almost the same amount that Disney + core went down.

I saw it in the theater last October and I’m not the biggest Swift fan, but it’s a really good concert film in my opinion. It’s a really well done show.

Previously, Disney said it would crack down on password sharing soon. This announcement in their recent earnings call is the first time they said that they would offer an option for an "extra subaccount" for an additional fee, the way Netflix does. That's supposed to be rolled out later this year sometime:

Re: Disney+ streaming service

Notable March releases

Probably the biggest "new" show is X-Men 97 on March 20th

and the Taylor Swift movie comes out March 15th.

and Cinderella 2015 is finally back. I believe it was pulled during Covid and was floating around on Starz. It comes back March 8th.

I was surprised it wasn't on this service for so many years.

Re: Disney+ streaming service

Hulu on Disney+ is officially out of Beta and the full experience is now available. The tile on the app still says "Beta", but I'm sure that will be updated eventually.

But again, you need to have a Hulu subscription to access Hulu content.

Did they add Live access for people using Hulu Live? Last I checked, it wasn't integrated into Disney+.

Nope. It's still just VOD.

Then I still need to go between the two apps. That's too bad.

There are other things missing as well, maybe for contractual reasons? For instance, Undead Unluck (the anime) dub version is there but not sub.

Re: Disney+ streaming service

The one benefit of hulu that Disney+ still doesn't have is that I can actually remove things from my continue watching. That reason alone is enough to continue to exclusively use the hulu app.

I’ve been watching Shogun thru the Hulu app and it’s only HDR. Never checked it in the Disney+ app and it’s Dolby Vision there.

Looks like Disney + is adding ad supported channels.

This might deserve its own thread but Jim Henson is getting his own documentary directed by Ron Howard premiering May 31st. I'm not crying you're crying.
