Re: Disney+ streaming service

I currently have that $2.99 Disney+ (no ads) add-on from Hulu (with ads) annual plan... basically $116 before tax for the year for both services. I wonder if that will go away.

Here's the complete service and pricing grid for October:
https://www.polygon.com/23826505/dis...ase-new-bundle

"Disney+ (no ads) add-on" is still a legacy service that you can keep, so long as you don't remove it or cancel your Hulu account, and they haven't announced a price change for it. The Hulu (with ads) annual price hasn't changed, so you should be able to continue with your $116 total annual cost without issue.

I’ll keep what I’ve got as long as the pricing doesn’t change. Still REALLY pissed about all the stuff they removed though. That’s not how it was supposed to work.

Re: Disney+ streaming service

Finally:
https://www.thewrap.com/wandavision-...onus-features/
Some of your favorite Disney+ streaming series from Lucasfilm and Marvel Studios are getting the physical media treatment later this year with new Blu-ray and 4K UHD releases of the first two seasons of Lucasfilm’s live-action “Star Wars” series “The Mandalorian” as well as Marvel Studios’ “WandaVision” and the first season of “Loki.”

“Loki” will be available on Sept. 26, “WandaVision” will be available on Nov. 28, and the first two seasons of “The Mandalorian” will be available on Dec. 12. The titles will be available on Collector’s Edition 4K UHD and Blu-ray, “featuring Steelbook packaging, concept art cards and some never-before-seen bonus features.” The Steelbook edition will feature brand-new box art designed by artist Attila Szarka and collectible concept art cards. (People love their Steelbooks!)

Iger finally realizing that he was missing out on a portion of his entertainment audience who still loves physical media and wants to personally own these shows.

Re: Disney+ streaming service

According to The Digital Bits, the releases are the usual Disney HDR10 only. No Dolby Vision.

Disney has cancelled two already shot TV projects, Spiderwick Chronicles and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea inspired Nautilus. Says they will shop them around.

You'd think they'd be hanging onto whatever was already in the bag considering the strike...

Re: Disney+ streaming service

Got this email from Disney+

You are currently subscribed to the Disney Bundle. Beginning October 12, 2023, the Disney Bundle (Disney+ (No Ads), Hulu (With Ads), ESPN+ (With Ads)) will increase from $14.99+ tax per month to $18.99+ tax per month. For as long as you remain on an eligible Verizon plan, you will not be charged the new rate until the end of your promotional period (if applicable) or your next billing date on or after October 12th, whichever is later.

Good news. Then the only price increase I'll see is a dollar or two more for the Hulu ad-free upgrade. I'll find out next month.

Re: Disney+ streaming service

I’ll say they certainly aren’t making it easy to switch from yearly to the Hulu duo.
