Re: Disney+ streaming service - November 12, 2019 launch
It is coming off as a bit random and chaotic at the moment. I would hope the Home Alones weren’t yanked because we’re past Christmas. Meanwhile, Never Been Kissed disappeared a month ago but is now back.
One of my kids asked if Austin and Ally was available, but that appears to be a not-that-old series that’s not there for whatever reason.

Someone else said Never Been Kissed was back but I tried searching today and couldn't find it. I tried "Never Been Kissed", "Never" and "Drew Barrymore" as search terms.
But I did just search for "austin" or "laura marano" and found austin and ally. Just don't search for "Austin and Ally" because it won't show up. Because what idiot would search for the exact name of the show?
This is worse than the 101 dalmations fiasco (protip: search for "One Hundred and One Dalmations" if you want to find the animated classic)

Yeah, I believe that their search could be that whacked, but I also believe that the series could’ve just (re)appeared. Who knows.

I mean, what the hell? I searched for “austin” and “laura marano” last week and came up with nothing. And I know I searched for that actor because it returned Bad Hair Day. And yes, “Austin & ally” works but not “and.”
Yeah, I believe that their search could be that whacked, but I also believe that the series could’ve just (re)appeared. Who knows.

Oh, they added Super Hero Squad, cool.
For your next trick, I need you to complain about not being able to find Malcolm in the Middle.
So has anyone found a search that works for "Never Been Kissed?" Not that I want to watch it, I'm just curious why it doesn't show up.

Spoiler:
I’m coming up with Never Been Kissed using “never,” “kissed,” “drew,” “drew barrymore,” and even the full title. Note that I’m using my 2016 IPad Pro running iOS 13.3 so YMMV.

If I type "Never" I get:
Peter Pan Return to Neverland
Tangled Before Ever After (?)
Jake and the Never Land Pirates
Amphibia (???)
The other searches you posted also don't show it. Don't tell me they coded the search engine differently for different apps too?
On Fire TV, "never" finds "Never Been Kissed" and besides the four above, also:
Tinkerbell and the Never Beast
The Greatest Game Ever Played
I cannot find either of those through the browser. This also explains why I told my daughter when the service first started that Neverbeast was missing, only for her to find it instantly on the tv.
edited to add: found the problem, the kids profile can't see those three. I guess Tinkerbell and the Never Beast is unsuitable for kids somehow. The browser doesn't default to make you choose a profile.
Oh wait, Neverbeast isn't on there until May 2021. So it probably hides all of the titles that aren't actually on the service yet from the kids, so they don't whine to their parents about it.

I do like the "themed"/"curated" lists found in the Search area. I noticed they had about half-dozen themes for Simpsons - Christmas, THOH, Future, etc. That's not really how I watch the show but it's a nice addition.
That should be a setting even for adult profiles. We only have one "watchlist" and as we browsed it, my wife said "Oh, is [Movie] on DisneyPlus? Cool!" and I had to say, "Actually, it will BE on it in a year and a half."

Since you're located in Australia, your streaming experience is probably different from posters in North America.
I think a lot of times when people are having problems streaming, it's not the service but the device that causes the problems. Smart TV apps are notoriously buggy. I'm not familiar with the Foxtel Now Box, but it sounds like it uses Android apps. Maybe you can try it on a Roku device or a game console?

I was able to watch it on foxtel now box after 24 hrs without issue, but still not on TV. Added to whicth all my kids iPads werent supported and couldnt load the app. I could chromecast to the smart TV (which has built in chromecast) but the only devices in the house the app would work on to cast from was my or my wifes phones, and nothing the kids had access to. I could have used their macbooks but they are for their school work and I dont allow them to use them for anything else. As it turned out the kids didnt watch it much at all (vertually had to prod them to) so I cancelled during trial period.

“A small handful of Disney movies are running into issues with various legacy deals, and that’s why they’re being removed,” reports The Verge’s Julia Alexander. “Those movies will rejoin Disney+ permanently once licenses expire with their respective parties.”
Legacy licensing deals refers to deals made with other streaming platforms like Netflix or Hulu before Disney+ launched. Those exclusive streaming deals were often set for three to five years, and it seems that even piles of money from Disney couldn’t wrest these films from their previous platforms. But, as Alexander reported, the films will return to Disney eventually, once those deals expire. But for now, other films will continue to quietly disappear from Disney+, including higher-profile films like Black Panther, which according to a report from Bloomberg, is set to lapse back to Netflix in 2026. A few eagle-eyed Disney+ users have noted hidden expiration dates for other titles.

Maybe the bean-counters should’ve checked the contracts before launching the titles. Maybe they paid off someone just so they could have Home Alone for the Christmas season.

According to Just Watch, Home Alone isn’t licensed to any streaming provider. It must be licensed to some basic cable channel.

The new Lizzie McGuire series is in limbo after the showrunner quit. Only 2 episodes were filmed.

“Lizzie McGuire” creator Terri Minsky is stepping away from her role as showrunner on the upcoming revival of the series for Disney Plus. A new showrunner has not yet been named.
“Fans have a sentimental attachment to ‘Lizzie McGuire’ and high expectations for a new series,” said to a Disney spokesperson. “After filming two episodes, we concluded that we need to move in a different creative direction and are putting a new lens on the show.”
Production on the show has been placed on hiatus amid the transition as Disney sets a new showrunner for the series. Star Hilary Duff is currently honeymooning in Mozambique with her new husband, Matthew Koma.
The new “Lizzie McGuire” is slated to pick up as Hilary Duff’s title character is just about to turn 30. Original star Hilary Duff was set to reprise the role as Lizzie navigated the ups and downs of adulthood with a little help from her old friends, some new ones, her well-meaning family and her 13-year-old alter-ego in animated form.
Production on the show began in November 2019, with a bevy of returning cast members which also included Adam Lamberg, Hallie Todd, Robert Carradine and Jake Thomas.
Original series creator Minsky was on board as showrunner and executive producer, with Duff and Rachel Winter also executive producing. Ranada Shepard is set to co-executive produce the series which is being produced by Salty Pictures, Inc. in association with Disney Channel.
The revival was announced by Duff herself at Disney Plus’s D23 Expo event in August of last year.
The original “Lizzie McGuire” series ran for two seasons on the Disney Channel from 2001 to 2004. The show helped establish Duff as a household name in the 2000s. It centered around the titular 13-year-old who struggled to navigate middle school. It was produced by Stan Rogow Productions and Disney Channel Original Productions, and distributed by Buena Vista Television.
Various “Lizzie McGuire” spinoff series were touted after the original show’s conclusion. The series was adapted into a movie, aptly titled “The Lizzie McGuire Movie,” which was released in 2003 and grossed around $55 million at the box office from a $17 million budget.

Any guesses on what their subscriber numbers are going to do now that The Mandalorian is over and there isn’t much coming up for quite a while (in terms of adult content draws)? This seems unusually short sited for Disney, IMO.

I've only seen clickbait articles that report on a faction of tweets of people saying they are canceling. Not any factual data.
