I thought it's supposed to extend your sub, they even state that, but people have been having trouble actually getting it to apply.

Re: Disney+ streaming service - November 12, 2019 launch

I'm having a hard time updating the app in the PS4...I'm showing a new version which I click...goes to downloads...try to start update and then tells me "There is a new version of Disney+, please go to the store for update"....I go to the PS Store and try and gives me the same message. I cannot get the update and can't open Disney+ until I get it......any thoughts?

Try deleting the app and then re-installing it.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi has officially moved to Disney + as of today and it does have some extras like the others and is available in 4K UHD

Re: Disney+ streaming service - November 12, 2019 launch

Can't remember exactly how many days/weeks back our LG TV app received an update. Ever since then we no longer get 4K offered in the app. We were able to watch Mandalorian in 4K + DV when the service first launched but had DD2.0. The update now provides DD5.1 but only HD +DV.

I spent about 30+ minutes logging out logging in removing the app reinstalling the app checking network speed to TV (98M on our 100M service) rebooting router etc. I tested 4K on Amazon, VUDU, YouTube, FandangoNOW, Google Play etc and all those apps provided 4K and associated HDR or DV.

So I did some google searches and found no listing of similar issues. I then tried their chat on help.

The agent asked if I had the latest versions of apps and OS as well of I was using a streaming device and if my TV was "old". I confirmed latest everything and App on TV (even gave app version #) and that the TV is a 2016 model. The help agent stated the app will evaluate capabilities of TV and internet service etc and only off to those capabilities. I explained my TV, OS, App version #, Internet speed etc. Another hour of chatt just to basically have the help agent state it likely is their service and it is what it is for now.

So basically we are left with not getting 4K on D+ now unless we buy an external 4K streaming device.

Is anyone else only getting offered HD +DV on their LG 4K TV?

Re: Disney+ streaming service - November 12, 2019 launch

It appears that D+ is now fully working with my Vizio tv. The app is still not on the tv but I've been using my Fire Stick. On launch, I could previously watch regular HD content fine but UHD/HDR shows would just show a white screen with only audio. My workaround was casting from my laptop.

Not sure when the change happened, just discovered it after ringing in the new year.

Sizzle reel for what's coming to Disney + this year

Wanda Vision is actually moving up a year and will premiere this year along with The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

Also, the recent Disney movies Lion King, Aladdin and Toy Story 4 are also coming this year.

Is that a new Lizzy McGuire movie or just the old series? She looked older and today...

edit...just saw new. Never saw old, but after seeing her in Younger, I’ll give this a try...

Revival of her series. She's been filming for the past several months.

Good. I have no desire to pay for these live remakes on digital or physical media. But I’ll watch them this way.

I mean in the sense like we usually do, by buying the digital or 4K disc. I know I'm paying, but for the overall service, not a direct purchase for these movies.

And now Disney+ will have a Stargirl movie while DCU/CW will have a Stargirl series.

Completely different of course yet some may not know which is which when in conversation.

Re: Disney+ streaming service - November 12, 2019 launch

Several movies were removed including Home Alone 1 and 2 and a Pirates of the Caribbean movie (forgive me, I have no idea which number it is but it's On Stranger Tides).

Someone said it was due to technical problems, so hopefully this isn't a vault situation because that can be easily abused by them when they want to sell some re-release on physical media.

Disney needs to come clean and state which TV shows and movies will be off the service similar to what Netflix and Prime do every month instead of not saying anything. Hopefully, they'll understand that.

Re: Disney+ streaming service - November 12, 2019 launch

Someone on that thread mentioned Netflix getting some of the bigger Disney movies back in 2026, so I looked it up:
https://www.indiewire.com/2019/06/ne...rn-1202146618/

Per a report in Bloomberg, every Disney movie released between January 2016 and December 2018 on Netflix will return to the streaming giant around 2026. So while those movies are still leaving Netflix, they’ll return in about seven years — and disappear from Disney+ at that time, as well.
Maybe it was said in this thread earlier but that kind of sucks (for Disney + subscribers). And I'm a Netflix subscriber and probably will still be in 2026.

Why? They own it all. If they decide to pull something, there’s a high chance they won’t license it to anyone else. They’ll probably start “vaulting” both Movies and TV.

I understand that they own it all but it's a common courtesy to tell your subscribers that something will be going away so it gives them a chance to watch it. It's that simple.

I was wondering what went missing from my watchlist on the 1st... Home Alone

I own it both physically and digitally so no great loss.

I’m sure Netflix will do in kind and license out their original property. Courtesy has nothing to do with it.

Who the heck is talking about licensing? I'm talking about telling your subscribers what shows and movies you are putting away in the vault ahead of time.
