The comics seem to be the #1 feature they are maintaining well since they now have 20,000+
If you don't read digital comics, then that's another story.

Stargirl is simply too expensive to land on the CW. The show's production structure doesn't fit on a small-time network like the CW. New episodes of the Flash are barely pulling .5 ratings these days.

For whatever it's worth, I always thought that was bogus information about Stargirl.

Legends of Tomorrow already had a different Stargirl anyway, so there would be continuity issues if it was set on the Earth 1 estsblished by the Arrowverse.

Re: DC Universe streaming service
DC Universe just sent me an email. They offered me a $15 discount off the regular annual renewal rate for being a founding subscriber.
so instead of $74.99, it’s $59.99 for the annual renewal. Hmmm, I said previously unless they offered me a discount I would likely cancel, but now I may stick around.
They just renewed Titans, Harley Quinn and Stargirl are coming. And I did win a sweepstakes I entered on the site. So it’s not a complete dumpster fire going out of business.
But going into year 2, they’re going to have a really hard tIme getting new subscribers. Hell, it’s going to be even worse when HBO Max launches.

I got this email from DCU today. This is pertinent for those of us that signed up for a year at once and got those bonus months:
I hope Titans has it’s season finale prior to 12/14/19! I’m out after that, and going forward will do a month here and there to binge the stuff I like.
Hey DC Universe Subscriber!
It’s been just over a year since we launched DC Universe in September of 2018, and since you pre-ordered your subscription to DC Universe, we want to thank you for being a big part of our success.
Because of you, in our first year we were able to…
• Debut our critically acclaimed original series Titans, Doom Patrol, and Swamp Thing and brought back fan-favorite Young Justice
• Expand our comics library to over 22,000 DC Comics titles… and counting
• Bring you over 300 episodes of DC Daily
• Give away thousands of tickets to movie screenings and exclusive member experiences
• Deliver once-in-a-lifetime sweepstakes and amazing weekly giveaways
• And we are just getting started!
Our second year promises to be even better, with the premiere of Harley Quinn on November 29th, Stargirl, BizarroTV, our new DCYou Unscripted shows, tons of great Community programming, and lots more fan-friendly events.
The first year of your ANNUAL DC UNIVERSE SUBSCRIPTION including the bonus three months for members who pre-ordered is scheduled to renew automatically for a 12 month term on 12/15/2019. As a special thank you for being with us from the beginning, we’ve lowered our renewal price -- only for launch members -- from $74.99 to just $59.99. This way, you can continue to enjoy DC Universe for just $5 a month.
There’s nothing you need to do in order to take advantage of this exclusive, discounted price, since your designated method of payment will automatically be charged on 12/15/2019. If, however, you prefer to cancel your DC UNIVERSE SUBSCRIPTION before this charge is processed, you have until 12/14/2019 to do so.*
Thank you again for being such an important part of our universe. We look forward to providing you with another year of DC fun and excitement!
Thanks!
Your Friends at DC Universe
*Once your subscription renews, your DC Universe subscription continues automatically for another 12 months and is not refundable. If you don’t cancel before your new renewal date, your DC Universe subscription will automatically continue as an annual subscription term (currently $59.99 +tax for an annual subscription), charged to the payment method you provide, until you cancel. For instructions on how to cancel your subscription, visit us at support.dcuniverse.com prior to the end of your current annual subscription, or CLICK HERE. To contact us with questions, CLICK HERE. No refunds once your paid subscription begins. Please see the TERMS OF USE for full terms applicable to your subscription.

A recent Crunchyroll survey asked about a subscription bundle that included DC Universe. So that might happen some time in the future.

I didn't get the DC Universe email - perhaps because I've already cancelled by subscription (long ago) and am just waiting for it to expire?

I didn't get it either but my sub doesn't expire until December.
Anyone use the comics section? I've been trying to use it more to see if it's worth it for me to renew (since that would be the major benefit) and it feels like unless you know exactly what you want to read, it kind of sucks.

I'm guessing that email was for pre-order folks only? My sub is up on Dec but I'm re-upping at 74.99.

For instance, I tried reading Doomsday Clock. The next issue wouldn't load automatically for me. When I go back to the page listing the series, it only shows like half the books available, like someone forgot to add them to a page when they came out on the service. Also they could really really use some kind of indicator saying when the next issue is coming out (if it's an ongoing series) on the service.
Also, I'd frequently get Alfred the Butler showing up telling me the comic didn't load correctly.

Re: DC Universe streaming service
I'm reading so many more comics on Comixology than ever on DCU. I did like the TV-reading when it worked but their interface just isn't that great.
I may be reaching Peak Streaming - even at the discount price of 5/month (I did get the preorderer discount email), I don't know if it's worth it.
Of course that's 5 bucks a month which is less than I spend on lunch any given day.
Of course that's what they want us to think.
And it's not just about the money, it's about the time. And the feel of one more streaming service that I'm not really using.
Darn it, I really wanted DCU to be awesome.
If HBO Max is similar to my existing HBO add-on, and has some of the DCU series, I'll definitely switch from HBO to Max and drop DCU. (I still don't really fully understand what Max is.)

Just saw on business insider that Stargirl will beb released on both CW and DCU. Assuming there's not a year delay, and that CW is on Hulu, that was pretty much the only thing i was looking forward to for another years sub. I'm out.

Get ready for #DCUSTARGIRL. Airing first and ad free on #DCUNIVERSE starting in Q2 2020.
Each episode of the show, starring Brec Bassinger in the title role, will arrive on The CW Network the day after it drops on DC Universe.
New episodes will be released weekly, with the premiere date to be announced later. Stargirl episodes will also be available to view on The CW’s free digital platforms, following their broadcast on The CW Network.

Doesn’t seem like a good sign for the service going forward to give away what was supposed to be an exclusive show. Waiting for the announcement that DC Universe is being repackaged as part of HBO Max.

DC Universe doesn't have a lot in the pipeline through 2020.
Of course they have Harley Quinn, the 2nd season of Doom Patrol, which they're sharing with HBO Max and then Titans 3rd season in Fall 2020 (if it makes it that far)
Other than that, they have something called Bizarro World
https://screenrant.com/bizarrotv-dc-...ology-tv-show/
DC You, which is a reality show co-developed by a DC fan in a sponsored contest
and whatever other animated movies and shows they want to bring in and out.
I'll be honest, that alone is probably hardly enough to attract or retain subscribers.
and if those people don't even read the digital comics they have, that makes it even worse. It seems like there are more only interested in video content and don't care or even use the comics portion.
