Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread

Amazon Prime Video and Germany’s Leonine Studios are expanding their existing partnership with a multi-year license agreement.

Under the deal, Prime Video gets exclusive second window SVOD-rights for a six-month period to upcoming theatrical feature films and home entertainment titles from Leonine’s slate and also includes non-exclusive SVOD rights to titles from Leonine’s content library.

Titles include Keanu Reeves’ “John Wick 4” and its spin-off “Ballerina,” starring Ana de Armas; Channing Tatum’s directorial debut “Dog”; Roland Emmerich’s “Moonfall,” starring Halle Berry; Nicolas Cage action-comedy “The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent”; Guillaume Canet’s “Asterix & Obelix: The Middle Kingdom,” with Gilles Lellouche, Marion Cotillard, Vincent Cassel and soccer star Zlatan Imbrahimović; Jennifer Lopez starrer “Shotgun Wedding”; and Leonine Studios co-production “The School of Magical Animals 2,” the sequel to Germany’s most successful theatrical release of 2021.

I'm not using it anyway, in protest against Amazon making original content on Freevee that isn't available ad-free to Prime members (like the Bosch spinoff).

I'm sure it will have no impact whatsoever. They could see how many Prime Bosch viewers aren't watching the IMDB spinoff, but I doubt their reporting system is designed to do things like that.
What is not seen is often as important as what is.

You're entitled to support content however you want, but I honestly don't feel Amazon's free service having short ads ruins the viewing experience. Leverage's new season was an easy watch.

We talked about this long ago, but these ad supported shows are financed differently than the ones that are Prime exclusive. I'm not an entertainment attorney, so I couldn't explain all the details.

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread

Could there be an an Amazon Prime streaming outage this morning?

I watch prime on a Roku. This morning I couldn't get on. I just got a very generic "An error occurred" message and a retry button. I verified that I could stream other channels, so I know it had internet access. I power-cycled the box. I deleted and re-added Prime; I was able to get to the sign-on process, but after that I got the same error message.

Answering my own question. I went to downdetector.com, and it shows a lot of people were having trouble with Amazon Prime video around 6am (Eastern).

When is No Time to Die slated to leave Amazon Prime? All the other Bond movies have already left.

Amazon Prime has such a shitty non-stable platform for how long movies stay available. For years Bond films are always going on Prime the disappearing without notice. That’s why I never use Prime for anything except to watch on occasional Prime show or movie.

You realize there were probably other streaming deals for the Bond films in place when amazon bought MGM, right?

Over the last year or so they have popped up and then disappeared within days at least three times.

Oh I realize that. Other services like Epix also has them on. That’s not the sole reason why they go on and off on Prime so infrequently.

Also, Prime absolutely SUCKS at letting people know what their upcoming and departing movies are.

I just did a search for "James Bond" and it looks like every Bond movie is available for free Prime streaming, except Spectre.

That's because it's licensed out to FX. Just watch has it listed there.
