People are losing their minds because of this article. But even in the US we already have some shows, mainly foreign language shows, dropping weekly, so it's not even new to Netflix US. People complaining about "not being able to binge" are somehow missing the fact that these kinds of shows come out earlier than if they just held all the episodes back to dump at once.

I am surprised no one is talking about Patty Jenkins setting up shop with Netflix. There has to be an interesting back-story as to why WB watched as one of their star players went to a streaming service instead of continuing to line up future films to work on. I think it is a safe bet that the sequel to Wonder Woman has a real shot at grossing 800m -1 billion (I really do believe it might crack a billion, if Captain Marvel did it WW can too) so it is a bit odd that she jumped ship.

It's a TV deal. She's not "jumping ship". It's not the same as someone like Ryan Murphy or Shondra Rhimes who left their production deals with FX and ABC. She can still work on features.

I'm curious to see Seinfeld in 4K, but I don't have that tier of Netflix. I'm hoping that with Disney+ including 4K at no extra charge (as Amazon Prime currently does for its original shows) it'll nudge Netflix to do the same to compete.

I'm pretty sure when they first announced it, they said Disney+ wouldn't have a separate tier for 4k.

I hope they keep the Yadda Yadda Yadda randomizer from Hulu.

I know more people have Netflix, but its been on Hulu for the last 3 years and in HD. People online are acting like this is such a huge deal. I guess no one watched it on Hulu or something?

I'm at $16/month with them. Granted that's still not expensive, but the Ultra HD surcharge is kind of stupid considering Amazon doesn't charge extra for it as will Disney + not.

I have access to multiple accounts on both Hulu and Netflix, but pay for neither of them. It's nice to have friends that share.

The thing about Seinfeld is that it's been in syndication so long the fans already know each episode by heart.

I don't see what the big deal is about Seinfeld either. The show has been off the air for 21 years, but plays in syndication ad nauseum and many own the DVDs. Plus, it's been on Hulu the last 3 years.

I know the hardcore fans love it, but I never got into it. Just a very expensive investment by Netflix like Friends.

I'm a big Seinfeld fan. I can watch a Seinfeld episode I've seen several times before and still find myself laughing at it. And it's great for syndication because you can tune in to any random episode and not really worry about needing to know about any ongoing story arcs.

I watched Friends regularly back in the day, but I kind of can't stand it now. I find them all rather annoying. I'd rather watch any Seinfeld episode again for the 10th time rather than watch Friends a second time through.

Friends has had a bit of a resurgence since it's on Netflix. A lot of people who were either very young at the time it aired or weren't born yet have started watching it. There's a lot of 25 year olds where I work just discovering the show and are a bit obsessed with it. Netflix is probably banking on Seinfeld having the same effect on Netflix viewers since they're losing Friends.

my daughters 16-21 are obsessed with Friends, which is why I jumped on that vudu deal, once it leaves Netlfix they would be bummed...

they don't care at all about Seinfeld... but my wife and I are working our way through the re-watch, finished season 3 this summer on dvd.. I skipped all the reruns, and these are the first re-watch since it originally aired so it's been good fun...

Exactly. The Office (U.S. version) has become HUGELY popular since it went on Netflix. Even when it was on the air it was never a top 10 show.

When I was a kid in the 80s, I was more into shows from the 60s like Brady Bunch, Gilligan's Island, I Dream of Jeannie, etc.. So it's easy to relate seeing kids get into shows from the 90s and early 2000s.

When you were a kid, that's what was on all day. If I had cartoons available 24/7 like they are now I wonder how many of those old sitcoms I would have actually watched.
