That would be OK as an option, but they'll likely make ALL content always play sped up with no way to change it, or have a constant "speed it up!" indicator onscreen with the Enter button turning the feature on and off.

Yeah, my tivo has it. It can be useful for things like news shows, game shows, some reality shows. I do this when listening to some podcasts, too. I wouldn't want to watch a normal drama or comedy tv show at higher speed, though.

Who the fuck would want to watch TV like that??
"I don't have a whole half hour to watch this TV show, give me a way to do it in 20 minutes instead!" Holy shit.
How is the audio pitch change handled, because PAL speedup annoys the hell out of me, and that's only around 5% faster.

There was a segment on an 80s sketch comedy show about "speed-watching" that showed people watching tapes on fast-forward, with an announcer bragging how quickly you could watch all of Roots.
It's clear at this point that Netflix has zero respect for presentation- I don't know how they get some of the talent to work for them that they do.

There's also something called integrity- which is where my name came from. It's been used on the TV versions of some movies.

I don't know how many times I wanted to see who starred in a tv episode only for it to jump to the next episode.

You DO know what my username means, don't you? I had actually wanted to use it in a lot more places but it was taken just about everywhere else- I got lucky here.

is there anyway to get the "previously on" back before a first episode of a second season? i was trying to set my mom's account to play the latest Kominsky Method S2. the intro recapping last season played, which she needs, then i must have clicked a button, it was gone and couldn't get it back to it for life of me. i even reloaded the app and stuff. thanks in advance.

A new show popped up recently that I am currently bingeing called Virgin River which I am enjoying. It stars Alexandra Breckenridge and is apparently already quite popular with Netflix subscribers. It is worth a watch despite the fact that Netflix just dropped the show into its lineup with no hype for the show.

Re: Netflix - News & Discussion
Deadline has a story up regarding Netflix’s list of top 10 films/tv shows/comedy specials/etc. for the year.
Some well known titles on the list and a few I have yet to stumble upon while browsing Netflix. I will say this, since Lost In Space season 2 made the top ten series list it means we will probably see a season 3 even if it ends up on Netflix more than 12 months from now (so 2021).
One final observation, people tend to shake their head that they partnered with Adam Sandler and gave him a ton of money to make originals for Netflix but it sounds like it is an understatement to me to say their investment in Adam Sandler would be considered money well spent. At least looking at the popularity of Murder Mystery this appears to be the case.

You should like at the fine print of those lists.

Dex, are you referring to Netflix clarifying that whatever made it onto their top ten lists was sampled for at least 2 minutes by a viewer? I wish the criteria was tightened up a bit so shows or films that actually were viewed in their entirety (or at least for 15 minutes for shows, 30 minutes for films) only made the list (even if said show/movie was viewed well after the first 30 day window) but for now we have to accept that a sizable chunk of folks viewing something for as little as 2 minutes can generate enough heat for Netflix to crow about the popularity of their shows and films.
If that is not what you were trying to point out, well...I still wish the criteria to get on a top ten list was tightened up.

to see which shows are popular and likely to be renewed by netflix, I check youtube and type in netflix trailer and sort by view count. For example “you” season 2 trailer had more than
4 million views while mindhunter 2 had 1.5 million views. Anne with an E season 3 has a low view count though
and given that netflix isn’t working with the Canadian producers, it is likely canceled as well. It is not a perfect method (shows winning awards, etc) but I think it allows me to see which shows I should watch right away or not especially the non netflix originals/exclusives that can go away e.g. The Fall.

The only shows on that Series list that I watch are 13 Reasons Why (though I haven't gotten to S3 yet) and When They See Us. I haven't even heard of most of them.

Season 2's trailer was viewed about 130,000 times. That's a big drop off.

The Final season of Arrow (10 episodes) is now on Netflix.
But, it includes Part 4 of the Crisis crossover. If you haven't seen it, you'll need to watch the other parts on the CW app as it would make no sense viewing the season straight through.
