The star ratings are still on their DVD side of the site. At least for me, all my ratings are still there on that side.

Re: Netflix - News & Discussion

While they didn't convert them to thumbs, they are still there if you look at your history. According to what I've read, they did use the old stars towards the probability percentages for titles for us.

btw I hate the new thumbs also. Basically only my 4 & 5 will get up and 1-3 will get down. I don't want the 3s that in most cases were okay to influence my percentages....

Kind of bummed about losing Scrubs. I recently restarted that series, and am now trying to power through to at least the end of the 8th season.

Yeah, losing Scrubs sucks.

I for one much prefer having access to great older network TV series much more than getting weekly new original content I will never watch.

That's why I have a huge backlog in my queue of Netflix original series. I keep putting them off because I know they'll always be there.

You're going to have to get Hulu if you don't already have it. Scrubs and many of the old tv shows that left netflix are on Hulu.

The $1.50 indicates it's a Blu-ray rental. DVDs are $1.00.

Re: Netflix - News & Discussion

A guess that shows how long it's been since I visited/rented from one, looks like the prices went up a while ago.

Yes. I rent 1 or 2 every few weeks especially when recent Big Moives show up like Doctor Strange, Rogue One, etc. I love RedBox. 1.50 for a DVD, I don't have a Blue Ray player. Anyway, I get lots a R1G1 Free codes from them. So why not?

I'm up to Episode 8 of Season 4 of Scrubs.

I'll just get the DVDs from the library. My local library doesn't have them, but within the district (central Illinois) they're all there.

Re: Netflix - News & Discussion

I made it through the ending of Season 8, which is all that matters.

Started up Santa Clarita Diet with Timothy Olyphant and Drew Barrymore. It's fairly funny, corny, although bordering on over-the-top-but-not-in-a-fun-way.

Re: Netflix - News & Discussion

"We're wealthy enough, so fuck you."

Netflix is ready to wave the white flag when it comes to the war over net neutrality.

The Federal Communications Commission and President Donald Trump want to tear down the rules governing an open internet that were put in place under the previous administration. While Netflix has been a vocal proponent of the rules in the past, CEO Reed Hastings said it isn't his company's fight anymore.

"We're big enough to get the deals we want," he said during Recode's Code Conference on Wednesday.

Netflix once stood alongside internet giants like Google, consumer advocates and Democrats in pushing for harder rules that ensured internet providers treated traffic equally. Republicans, pro-business advocates and companies like Comcast and Verizon argue the rules are too onerous and stifle innovation and investment.

One concern over prioritizing traffic was the idea that smaller players wouldn't be able to compete against larger companies who could afford priority access. That's no longer the case with Netflix, which is one of the largest drivers of video traffic on the internet.

It's an issue that would have been more important to "the Netflix of 10 years ago," he said.
