the first email says it can take 24 hours for the second email, so just be patient.

Also the DDD order status page is also delayed. (i.e. you'll get the third email saying your order has shipped while the order staus page still shows as "open".

I placed my order around 10:30am Thursday. Not only have I not received the first e-mail, I still have nothing in my order status window :-( And I was dumb and didn't print out the confirmation screen. So I just hope my order isn't lost in cyberspace...

I know it hasn't even been 24 hours yet, but still...

Well I got a DDD pop-up this morning as I checked in on DVDTalk. As the image slowly loaded I thought "This is it! The real 20% Off sale must be starting today!"

As I grabbed my list of "DVDs to buy" the full pop-up image revealed an offer of free shipping on Happy Gilmore.

Yes, the shipping is free on everything. Good point. That didn't occur to me when I saw the ad. It must just be advertising the upcoming release and they put the "Free Shipping!" label on all of their ads.

Anyway, with my sluggish dial-up connection, I was leaning in towards the screen as the full ad was displayed.

I placed mine yesterday morning as well so it looks like we're in the same boat. I don't think it will show up on the web site until we actually get the second email with the confirmation number. Hopefully they are just backed up. If it doesn't come today or Monday I may try contacting them but I'm trying not to worry yet...

Well I'm not thanking this poorly run operation for anything. Despite the fact I'm staring at my order confirmation screen, I've received NO e-mails and there's nothing on my order status screen. It's been over 24 hours. Called this morning - "that order does not exist. Sorry, we can't honor it". Mentioned the posting, denied all knowledge of it and said their policy wasn't to honor internet mistakes. Didn't want to bother with a supervisor, their mind-numbing slow site took enough of my time yesterday.

This is, by my honest count, the SEVENTH problem I've had with this company. Best prices and free shipping don't mean anything when you have to put up with nonsense. Weeks waiting on shipments that are in stock, overbills, double bills, severely damaged merchandise, OPENED merchandise, WRONG merchandise, lost orders, lost internet orders, etc.

No thanks to this POS operation for me. I know most of you don't have problems, and that's fine, but I'm tired of putting up with them. Sticking with Amazon and STL, a company I've had zero problems with. Saving a few dollars isn't worth the hassle.

So far all is excellent here.

World has larger problems to lose sleep over than this little bump in the road.

I would agree they aren't too great an operation - but you get what you pay for. I've saved *a lot* of money going with them over time, so that when I had to return one and it took 2 months to turn it around, I just lived with that as a consequence.

So when I said thanks, I really meant for existing as a cheap alternative.

No question, Amazon w/STL is normally the best way to go for pre-orders...

I placed 2 orders around 10am and only received a initial email for one of the orders. Neither order shows up on the order status screen.

Seems like those who placed their orders last night are not having a problem. It's the ones who placed them in the morning...

I understand how you feel. I still haven't received a confirmation e-mail, nor a change in online order status. I received a 'Thanks for your order' window after placing my order, so I know it went through. I've been a loyal DDD customer for years and have spent thousands of dollars as their customer. I ordered all 5 Twilight Zone boxsets, as well as season one of the original 'Outer Limits'...oh well, I guess some other online distro will benefit from my dissatisfaction with their seemingly arbitrary customer service policy.

As I stated earlier, I placed two orders yesterday between 10-11 AM. I immediately received the initial e-mail that listed what I ordered, but nothing since. My account status still shows that I have zero open orders. I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that all of my orders were pre-orders. I will give them until Monday and then I will call.

I placed one order at 4am and another at about 9:30 am. I got the 2 emails for both, and they show the full discount. Now just waiting for the one order to ship (the other one was a preorder).

I placed an order yesterday morning, got the confirmation email but it's not showing up on the order status page. My only worry is I bought Playmakers and Quantum Leap Season 1. If the order doesn't go through, I'd like to be able to pick these up at Best Buy/Circuit City before the price goes up.

The safe bet: Pick them up at Circuit City anyway, but don't open them yet. If the DDD ones come through, just return the CC ones and get your money back.

Has anyone gotten a second confirmation/order number for an order they put through yesterday morning?

I placed a single large order at around 12:00 AM Pacific time the night the coupons were posted. The order consisted of a mixture of released and preorder titles, about 17 DVDs total, which most were either boxed sets or television series. I only received the second confirmation email but it is the one that matters since it has an order number, and it's listed on my order status page with the proper charges and discounts. So far my order is listed in process for items in stock, and nothing shipped to date.

I had most of the preorder DVDs ordered at Amazon with STL discounts but will not cancel until I have some shipments from DDD first, and know I am being charged the correct price. I don't anticipate any problems but thought it is better to play it safe before cancelling the Amazon orders.
