It was not all LOL funny but just enough and the best since the Mulaney episode.
Nice to see McKinnon and Sandler in a sketch two different SNL Stars from different eras working together.
A touching tribute to Farley.
I thought Spade would show up.
Feel so old remembering Sandler, Spade, and Farley on SNL in the early 90's.
What is Wiig doing these days? I have not seen her in any movies or TV show for awhile.

It's funny, say what you will about his films, but he's a genuinely nice and humble guy. And I get why he gets his friends together to do a movie and use it to have family time. Especially after his Farley song. I've met him numerous times. If it was a wrap party, he'd come up and introduce himself and say thank you for working on the film.

Great episode. You can tell they have extra talent writing for certain hosts. Or whatever the politics there are ... certain hosts get the best sketches through.

It was a hosting 24 years in the making — former Saturday Night Live alum Adam Sandler returned to the show for the first time since leaving as a cast member in 1995. The telecast, which also featured appearances by fellow former SNL-ers Chris Rock, Kristen Wiig and Jimmy Fallon, averaged a 4.8 Live+Same Day household rating in the metered markets, and a 1.8 adults 18-49 rating in the markets with local people meters.

I always assumed he and Farley quit SNL in 1994 or1995 and this was in the era before the internet where you found out about stuff like that.
Maybe if Sandler and Farley stayed they might have been in the same cast with Will Ferrell when he joined SNL in 1995.

I thought this was great! I haven't seen any of his recent Netflix movies, but certainly a fan of his more popular films. For that reason, the Family Reunion sketch made me smile, if not laugh out loud. Rectix was great, as was Operaman, the monologue and the Farley tribute. The bar sketch with Wiig was pretty funny too, even though it's been recycled a number of times. The only real dud for me was the Holes video. It was amusing at first, but went on too long.

I was less impressed, but then again I'm not a huge Adam Sandler fan. I'm not a "hater", I just think he wasted his considerable talent to mostly be reduced to his cooing baby talk schtick or his sudden bursts of anger. Hell, I remember him on MTV's Remote Control, usually playing a tough street kid.
From Saturday's show I did like the "I Got Fired" song, the Romano Tours, and Operaman. Farley tribute was excellent, though slightly lessened when I learned it was not the debut of the song.

Lorne cleaned house that year, firing almost everybody. It made way for incoming class with Jim Breuer, Will Ferrell, Cheri Oteri, Darrell Hammond, Chris Kattan, Molly Shannon.
