First time he has hosted since 2018 and I thought he would have hosted multiple times.
The space thanksgiving sketch at the end of the show was lame.

For a guy I consider to be pretty damn funny, Carell was sort of a lousy host.

Still trying to figure out if there was some technical issue that caused the ending of the "Kern/Corn" space sketch to make less sense than intended.
On the East coast feed of the show there was a moment where the superimposed face of Pete Davidson lost the background of the corn and afterward the dialogue seemed to be ad-libbed by the actors as if they lost a few lines.
Not saying the missing lines would have made this comedy gold but at least it might have made more sense. As it was Steve Carrell makes it sound like they had some plan to free the 'kern' from the aliens and then just proceeds to enjoy eating it with them. Was that the joke? I'm guessing there was something more there...
It always amazes me how much SNL spends on production value for sketches that turn out to be turds. This one was a prime example. I realize it probably cost them less than you would think given the camera tricks and set design tricks employed but for a 5 minute throw away sketch it just seems like such a waste of money.

Not much good to say about this episode. I love Carelle and aside from the monologue with the Office folks and Jeff Bezo skit not a very good show. I think I may cancel the DVR on this show...
