Re: June 2010 History Film Challenge Discussion Thread

Some anime WWII thing with robots? Have no clue of any but I'd be shocked if they didn't exist. That or some time travel movies where they go back in time during major historical events.

Re: June 2010 History Film Challenge Discussion Thread

Inglorious Basterds was a really nice change of pace considering what I've been watching. Pan's Labyrinth was also much better than I was expecting.

Now I have 20 minutes left of yet another...

Re: June 2010 History Film Challenge Discussion Thread

I wouldn't have normally asked about that one but

The reason for it being preserved made me think it might be acceptable for this challenge.

Re: June 2010 History Film Challenge Discussion Thread

If you believe what the cover says, "Jets", prepare to be disappointed as there's no aircraft of any kind in the film.

Re: June 2010 History Film Challenge Discussion Thread

My current goal for this challenge is to finish the History list at icheckmovies. Only 18 to go. I have 9 coming from Netflix and I have all the others or they can be streamed from Netflix. Don't see...

All available for streaming through Netflix

Re: June 2010 History Film Challenge Discussion Thread

That's what I liked about my former Hollywood Video Store. People renting didn't take OOP stuff that'd fetch a decent price on the Internet, like 1984.

I had something similar happen. I managed to...

Re: June 2010 History Film Challenge Discussion Thread

I don't think it's them pulling it as much as it is people "losing" discs.

Re: June 2010 History Film Challenge Discussion Thread

I used to push for having goals of 100 movies for challenges but this and the make your own challenge is what finally pushed me over to changing that line of thought. Midway through the last...

Re: June 2010 History Film Challenge Discussion Thread

Was that the guy trying to get money for his special helicopter? There was some show I listened to years ago with Art and maybe it was the same guy.

It's sad that George buys into anything unless...

Re: June 2010 History Film Challenge Discussion Thread

According to a guest around the beginning of the year on Coast to Coast AM, only the latter is folklore.

Because of this, I clearly think we...

Re: June 2010 History Film Challenge Discussion Thread

I thought about that too but then at the same time, sports movies like Rocky are allowed. What pushed me more towards asking was that all westerns are allowed. I figured worst case I'd be using a...

Re: June 2010 History Film Challenge Discussion Thread

I wouldn't watch since they're completely fake. The Kevin Costner ones have already been set for not being allowed, unless I read that wrong, so I don't see why these should be allowed.

Re: June 2010 History Film Challenge Discussion Thread

That's what I'm mainly worried about. One could argue that kung fu movie X is a period piece for a whatever Chinese Dynasty it takes place in. We still have time though and I'll end up just doing the...
