Re: The Walking Dead (and other zombie discussion)

Especially considering Alpha is on the cover they solicited for the next issue!

Re: The Walking Dead (and other zombie discussion)

I had assumed as much when that one walker "spoke" a few issues ago. I'm actually disappointed. It would have been even more terrifying if the walkers had someone gained some level of sentience.

Re: The Walking Dead (and other zombie discussion)

Agreed.

I hope we get more than a couple of issues where we see what "normal" life is like for these people.

Re: The Walking Dead (and other zombie discussion)

I'd grown bored with the last arc way before it ended. However, this plot device got me pumped.

Kinda interesting to Rick and his people actually successful at reestablishing some semblance to...

Re: The Walking Dead (and other zombie discussion)

I didn't care for it either, but I do see the reasoning for it, at least in theory. People just can't continue to kill and make war on each other if the human race is going to survive. Unfortunately,...

Re: The Walking Dead (and other zombie discussion)

I was believing every word Rick was saying and was surprised to see Negan agreeing with him. Then bam! Knife to the throat!

Re: The Walking Dead (and other zombie discussion)

I don't know that I hate it, but it's not doing much for me.

Re: The Walking Dead (and other zombie discussion)

Oh jeeze... like Carl becoming a member of the harem? That would be the sickest thing in the history of the book

Re: The Walking Dead (and other zombie discussion)

I'm sure you could sell the floppies just fine, but I sold the first 16 TPBs in one auction for more than I paid for them (go figure) to one seller... wham, bam, thank you ma'am.

Re: The Walking Dead (and other zombie discussion)

I would recommend the TPB at this point. You'll only get two a year, but reading issues month to month seemed very labored to me (and I buy about two dozen monthly books) for this title.

Re: The Walking Dead (and other zombie discussion)

Compedium makes sense for anyone who just wants to read the story quick and dirty. Kinda like those Marvel books that reprint 25 issues at a time in black and white. But once you're hooked, what do...

Re: The Walking Dead (and other zombie discussion)

I may be making this up, but I remember reading an interview where he said (perhaps joking, perhaps not) that he could see the series going 300 issues (the magic Cerebrus number). He also said that...

Re: The Walking Dead (and other zombie discussion)

Compendium will be cheaper, but it's HEAVY and a bitch to read. I'd go to the bookstore to see them. I originally bought the TPB, but sold them, and I'm now buying the HC books.

Re: The Walking Dead (and other zombie discussion)

You can go back and read my old posts on this board so you can see I'm not just some "hater." I loved the first 50 issues or so. But the book doesn't maintain the same quality throughout its run as...

Re: The Walking Dead (and other zombie discussion)

I wonder how many actual books have been sold to readers, because my LCBS literally has hundreds of copies left.

Re: The Walking Dead (and other zombie discussion)

I want to see these people re-establish a society into a Republic type government system where they elect representatives who then gather as a tribunal to make the "big picture" decisions for the...

Re: The Walking Dead (and other zombie discussion)

I would have much prefered to see them kill Maggie and see how Glenn reacts to that, than this. Sometimes I wonder if Kirkman sacrifices storytelling for shock value too much.

Re: The Walking Dead (and other zombie discussion)

It's weird, I'd figure by now there would be tons of places with spoilers, but I can't find one. I get my books through DSCB and I won't get my copy until around August 9. Boo...

Re: The Walking Dead (and other zombie discussion)

I agree. I'm not one of these people who insist on more zombies, but it basically took six issues to introduce a new group of people. Hard to believe Kirkman needed 120 pages to do that.

Re: The Walking Dead (and other zombie discussion)

I was hoping to start buying the HCs at some point, but it's just been cheaper to buy the TPBs. Plus, lame as it sounds, I don't know about waiting a year for the HC once I catch up. I took a peak at...
