Re: The Odyssey (2026, D: Nolan)

My local theater is showing it in 70 mm. Giving out special branded hats if you buy tickets tomorrow. They gave out Oppenheimer duffel bags and t-shirts when that came out.

Re: Coyote vs Acme (2026)

Some business professor needs to study how badly WB fumbled Looney Tunes being out of the public eye to this insane degree. I can understand the Studio Stores going out of business. Disney Store had...

Re: The Adventures of Tintin 2 (20??) W/D : P. Jackson

It's about time. Considering the plan was for Jackson to do the second prior to the release of the first movie, he was definitely the hold up. Spielberg could have just done this himself 10 years ago.

Re: Malcolm in the Middle: Life's Still Unfair (Hulu) -- premieres 4/10/26

Reboot is just the term now, even if it doesn't mean what it was originally intended for, like how "literally" is used as figuratively. Even on their interviews, reading off one of the question cards...

Re: Shrinking (Apple TV+) - S: Harrison Ford, Jason Segel - from the makers of Ted Lasso - premieres 1/27

Michael J. Fox was severely underutilized given the publicity surrounding his role. I would have expected at least a few more scenes with Harrison Ford, or even a few scenes of him in the larger...

Re: 98th Academy Awards (Oscars) - March 15, 2026

They already know each other. Sean Penn gave one of his Oscars to him on one previous occasion.

Re: Mario Tennis Fever (Switch 2: 2/12/26)

What's the mode/setting for that? I'm looking for best of 3 sets.

Re: Mario Tennis Fever (Switch 2: 2/12/26)

First thing I did was turn off that Flower announcer. Also I don't expect a sim by any means but I'm disappointed that the scoring system is just straight points, with no way to play actual games or...

Re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread

Wow I had no idea. Checking my Amazon history, I paid just under $9 for it in 2010. And in typical DVDTalk fashion I have yet to see it.

Re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread

It’s possible but there’s a ton they need to get right first. They need to upgrade the Eclipse titles, which are below DVD standard. And it’s been 15 years and they still haven’t given a separate...

Re: Dispatch (PS5 and PC) Out Now Made By Former Members of Telltale Games

This was fun. But some of the dialogue sounded like what a middle schooler imagined adults talk like.

Re: Xbox Series X - 11/10/20

Re: Once Upon A Time In Hollywood (2019, D: Tarantino) S: DiCaprio, Pitt, Robbie

On the subject of the book and the world of the movie, people may be interested in this. Uninterrupted programming from 93 KHJ from the 60s and early 70s, the same station featured in the...

Re: The Legend of Zelda's 40th Anniversary in 2026: A Speculation Thread

Realistically:

New icons for the Switch profile.
Two or three Zelda games being added to Nintendo music.
Major casting reveal about the Zelda movie, and some footage.
No remakes.
Expensive...

Re: Once Upon A Time In Hollywood (2019, D: Tarantino) S: DiCaprio, Pitt, Robbie

I was considering Batman Year One Artist Edition which features all the artwork actual size. 16x24, 10 lbs. The Hollywood book is mini compared to that.

But now I’m wondering how thick these books...

Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (12/4/2025; Switch, Switch 2)

I’m getting into the full swing of things and have the mines next. It seems like everything is way more obvious than usual (as opposed to Dread), even without the constant hints. Like there’s only...

Re: Stranger Things (Netflix) - Season 5, Vol. 1 - 11/26/25, Vol. 2 - 12/25/25, Series Finale - 12/31/25

I’m caught up but don’t have much to add. Six or seven simultaneous storylines is ludicrous, especially when groups within the storylines split up and branch off.

Fifteen people sitting around...

Re: Once Upon A Time In Hollywood (2019, D: Tarantino) S: DiCaprio, Pitt, Robbie

It fits well into my Kallax cube shelf alongside James Cameron’s Tech Noir, but those are at the height limit.

Re: Nintendo Switch 2 - 06/05/25

To add to this you always have 12 months to redeem the vouchers from the date of purchase. New Switch titles can still be added to the voucher list after January 30.

Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (12/4/2025; Switch, Switch 2)

I’m enjoying it but the infrequent auto saves means I have had to repeat some sections. Also unclear if I’m supposed to have the grapple gun before I fight the dud with the shield.

And the morph...

Re: The Odyssey (2026, D: Nolan)

Mine was not 70 mm. Possible that it’s on a per theater basis though. Got the brief Avengers teaser too.

An employee even announced that they were going to stop the credits after Avatar due to the...
