Re: Avengers: Infinity War -- August 14, 2018

When's the last time Disney did an actual, legitimate double dip for a film that was not a catalog title?

The Force Awakens is the only title I can think of which got a second release prior to...

Re: Best/Worst 4K UHDs you have seen

I wouldn't be surprised if the UHD used the same 4K master Universal made years ago to convert the film into 3D.

Re: STAR WARS (THE LAST JEDI): 4K Ultra HD / Blu-ray

Except Target's version of TLJ looks like it's either a standard Blu-ray case with slipcover combined with the 40-page book OR the terrible packaging they used for their original, exclusive release...

Re: THOR RAGNAROK: 4K Ultra HD / Blu-ray

I have the 4K steelbook on pre-order, but it's a shame that it doesn't include the 3D disc like Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 and Rogue One.

I say that because this was the fourth Marvel film...

re: TITANIC in 3D (Cameron) - re-release

For Dolby Cinema at AMC? Yes.

Unfortunately, AMC has an exclusive deal with Dolby in the fact that they are the only chain in the U.S. to have the Dolby Cinema branding. With that being said,...

re: TITANIC in 3D (Cameron) - re-release

Jesus Christ, I was married in 2012?

Anyway, moving on....

The Dolby Vision 3D presentation is worth the price of admission. Sadly, it happens to be one of the few films that I've seen...

Re: COCO: 4k Ultra HD / Blu-ray

With Dolby's big push into the home theater market in recent history with bringing Atmos and Vision to consumer hardware, I'm surprised they haven't developed a home variation of Dolby 3D where the...

Re: COCO: 4k Ultra HD / Blu-ray

It's not hardware specific. Blu-ray 3D playback is firmware/software based.

Sony, Samsung, and Panasonic updated a few of their existing players for Blu-ray 3D playback via firmware updates when...

Re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

I really don't want to be that asshole, but Microsoft launched the ability for users to enable the download of 4K assets weeks prior to the launch of the X. I made sure to enable the feature the...

Re: COCO: 4k Ultra HD / Blu-ray

I don't understand why Disney can't make the 3D releases retailer exclusive (a la Guardians Vol. 2 and Rogue One), but at the same time, I also understand why they're giving up on 3D Blu-ray since I...

Re: SUSPIRIA: 40th Anniversary Synapse Exclusive 4K Remaster

Both the Anchor Bay and Synapse releases were approved by Luciano Tovoli.

According to May, they were going off production notebooks in regards to what the film should look like during the...

Re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

Unlike in 2014, I feel Microsoft was able to gauge the reaction of the PS4 Pro both prior and after launch in order not to repeat reactions from the community and the developers.

PS4 Pro utilized...

Re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

The S was the normal redesign of a console after its been on the market for a few years. We've seen it with pretty much every generation at this point.

To implement HDR and 4K playback, Microsoft...

Re: Call of Duty: WWII (11/3/17; PC/PS4/XB1)

The game uses dynamic resolution based upon what's occurring on screen. The Xbox One X version varies between 1920x2160 to 3840x2160 (the PS4 Pro variation varies between 960×2160 to 2640×2160),...

Re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

I purchased the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 at launch and returned it days later after constant disconnects and zero support from them.

They ended up sending me a free Stealth 700 a few weeks later...

Re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

Much smoother, better graphical fidelity, and I was getting thrown into matches before anyone else.

Microsoft has confirmed WW2 is an Xbox One X enhanced title, but a glitch is currently...

Re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

The BC version of Halo 3 looks better than what's presented in the MCC, however, its locked to 30fps unlike MCC's 60fps.

Call of Duty: WW2 runs like butter unlike what I was dealing with on my S....

Re: The Official "3D" Blu ray Thread. Now with Smell-O-Vision.

The last two Transformers films had some great 3D effects in their IMAX presentation (considering I thought Dark of the Moon's 3D sucked), but the shifting aspect ratios nearly drove me to suicide...

Re: Call of Duty: WWII (11/3/17; PC/PS4/XB1)

The War multiplayer mode was the best part of the beta.

I enjoyed the gameplay mechanics as it feels more like classic Call of Duty (i.e. COD4), but the maps are designed poorly and the removal...

Re: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 - BR / UHD (yes UHD) Aug. 22

Unless you want to import it from another country, the Best Buy steelbook is the only way to get the 3D edition in the states.

Re: THE THING: 2-Disc Collector's Edition -9/20/16

Universal's U.K. branch has given Arrow a lot more leeway in regards to their releases (such as creating brand new masters) whereas Universal's U.S. branch doesn't allow Shout Factory to do shit.

Re: Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (BD/UHD; 10/3/17)

I can't wait to purchase all these Disney UHD combo packs to ultimately end up watching the film on Vudu.
