Unfortunately 8/14 is smack dab at the start of my busiest time of the year. I won't have access to a vehicle until after Labor day, and I'm working pretty much all day, every day till then. I just got lucky last year.
Plain ole vanilla on this one for me, I guess.

I think that's one of the examples that I was remembering seeing that scared me off from ever ordering online for ship to home.

If the movie wasn't long enough already, looks like we might be getting an extended cut on blu ray

I can see that release prior to Avengers 4 being released, or being released in conjunction with the DVD/Bd/UHD release of A4.
I'll be very surprised if we see it in September.
I'll be looking forward to it, but it won't stop me from getting IW asap.

I can't find anything about this, search results are only coming up with a book that's apparently being released. I've been wanting a documentary that talks about everything from the what-if aspects of starting with Iron Man, moving to realizing they had a hit and how to plan out the phases, culminating in the recent Avengers movies.

I remember reading something about an extended version of the film, something like an extra half hour focused on Thanos.
I'm guessing that it isn't on this release, then? Maybe a double dip down the road? (Hopefully not an exclusive in a "Phase III" boxed set.)

My first thought was a double dip around the time the next movie arrives in theaters. Possibly also with the extra disc recently pulled from being included in the first release.

In case you haven't seen it, here's the artwork. It's basically the movie poster artwork:

I'm not waiting for a Black Friday discount on this one. Loved this movie and want it the week it comes out.

The Force Awakens is the only title I can think of which got a second release prior to the release of Rogue One.

I think it’s just some new marketing term they made up for a digital copy or whatever. Basically you can use your tv or a smartphone/tablet/laptop or whatever else. I’m in for just the normal version. I’ve gotten the 4K editions of Thor: Ragnarok and Black Panther and probably will for this release too. Either that or just the regular Blu-ray.

Re: Avengers: Infinity War -- August 14, 2018
Does that count? But yeah, I don't think they have done that with any Marvel titles yet, other than the older ones that didn't have digital copies when they were first released.

They’ve re-released some with different cover art but I think that’s about all. That may have been when they added digital copies for some of them too. It doesn’t seem like a typical Disney thing to release a different cut of a movie in general really.

Did a little more digging, and it sounds like this was a false alarm. The reports of an extra thirty minutes came from Jim Starlin, the writer of the original comics and creator of Thanos. It sounds like this stuff was in the script but not actually filmed.

On disc in Japan, apparently. Digital everywhere else. No retailer-exclusive discs this time around.
