That's out? I had it pre-ordered on Amazon but canceled it, because my GF is getting it for me for Christmas.

I thought it came out next week?

I remember when I got the album back in September it said Vinyl wouldn't be available until November. Didn't realize it got pushed back to December haha.

Re: The VINYL Thread!

I got a weird email from Warner Bros Music regarding my Meg Myers record.

It said something along the lines of "We regret to inform you that due to a manufacturing issue, the records will not be available on the release date of December 18th. Instead they will be shipping out on the date of December 18th."

Sorry, due to a delay they won't be out on this date, which happens to be the same date they will be sent out.

I'm thinking that you would have received it on 12/18 but now they will ship them on 12/18, so maybe you'll have it by Christmas?

Maybe, but in the last delay email I got, I remember them saying it was delayed until December 18 and it would ship then.

So they basically sent out a second email confirming this info but worded it like they were delaying it again, from the 18th to the 18th.

I got my signed lyric book and mp3s back in September though, when the album was first released.

I kinda wanted to get the signed lyric booklet but I already have a signed copy of the Make A Shadow EP so I thought I'd leave one for someone how might not already have her autograph haha.

I want them all.

No. The GF will probably get it for me from Amazon. I gave her my wish list and it was on there from Amazon. I think the lyric booklet is only available through WB but I wish there was a color variant. I surprised there isn't.

I guess Judgement Night was canceled for RSD but I walked into Waterloo tonight and there was a Music On Vinyl release of the soundtrack. Not sure if it's hard to find or what, but great soundtrack for a shit movie. Sounds great.

Got me a 7 inch single from Fu Manchu in orange vinyl. $5 on their website. The B-side is a single from MOAB.

Re: The VINYL Thread!

I don't think we have anyone in this thread from Austin, but my friend who owns Sound Gallery is having Dean Blackwood who came up with The Third Man Paramount record set on hand Saturday 2-7 PM discussing and demoing it. Free booze too.

Re: The VINYL Thread!

Do you have something that can clean within the grooves of the record? A record cleaning brush, perhaps?

They do. I think one of Kyuss' founding members was the original Fu Manchu Drummer for a long time. Producer, too.

They also play the same style of music. Both of those bands are considered "stoner rock."

Re: The VINYL Thread!

So what does everyone here use to clean their stuff? I found this on Amazon but damn does it have some rough reviews:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000KMZKTO/...I2E0EUQDGCV96L

I also found this one here but all the reviews are from fuckers who got the damn thing free:

Any suggestions?

If you can find a vintage/older RCA Discwasher -- with a dark brown brush surface, not off-white -- by all means grab one. They were fantastic. The newer ones are nowhere near as good.

Re: The VINYL Thread!

I use the discwasher for cleaning. And I always run a carbon fiber brush over each side before playing to knock off the dust and static.
