Don't know the price but most likely too much money. Too much work to listen to the thing. Too much room for user error and messing your record up looking for all the gimmicks.

Re: The VINYL Thread!

It's only $20 actually. Some are very gimmicky, but some are really cool. The video sold me on a few things, and for $20, couldn't give a shit either way. At least it's not $70 like that new Deluxe Mastodon LP.

Re: The VINYL Thread!

I pre-ordered it on Amazon just to be sure. It came to about $28 and some change shipped with tax. That's steep.

Re: The VINYL Thread!

I guess it all depends on where you buy it from as well. Honestly, doesn't seem that bad to me considering what I've seen a lot of new LPs send for.

Re: The VINYL Thread!

I've got the Vault edition on preorder, but may pick up a standard edition just to mess with, so I can keep the Vault one intact.

Re: The VINYL Thread!

Thanks. Same price as amazon for me so I'll hold on to my preorder in the hopes the price drops there.

Of course its a gimmick. I don't think he's trying to hide that fact. He's just have a little fun.

I ordered one for Third Man. $20 + $6 shipping.

I only bought the Revenge Kiss reissue and paid less than $30 for it via 3rd market seller.

Paying a nickel for Kiss is 5 cents too much.

Great album! The band at their beer drinking, hell raising, raucous best. No ballads and a hell of a good time.
Yeah, even the song call "This Is The Ballad" is not a ballad. I love this album.

Snagged one of the bootleg versions just because it was on orange vinyl. I do wish it had a text label though because I can never tell which side I'm putting on. Oh well, both sides are good anyway so it's like a mini surprise each time I play it.

Re: The VINYL Thread!

Neil Young: Zuma - $13.75 at Amazon.

You can get it a buck cheaper from another third party without Prime.

Is that a good deal? Amazon is selling theirs for $14.01. That one you listed is a 3rd market seller.

Re: The VINYL Thread!

Both are fulfilled by amazon. No difference aside from the $0.26.

Unless you're asking if ~$14 is a good deal for the lp. In that case, I thought it was.

Re: The VINYL Thread!

Well, I said fuck it and ordered the Only Lovers Left Alive score on vinyl. I have a feeling it's going to go out of print soon, so might as well get it before it's gone.

I was going to say look at the matrix number in the dead wax, depending on if it's followed by an A or B, that will tell you. However, even then it's kind of hard to tell with the orange vinyl.

Re: The VINYL Thread!

I just picked up a still sealed copy of The Police Synchronicity sold as 'used' for $5, which somehow, I had never owned on vinyl before. According to the sticker on it, it is pressed on KC-600 Audiophile Vinyl.

Funny thing about it, too, is that somebody got this for Christmas quite some time ago, as it still has a little Santa sticker covering the original price tag. 31 years and they never even opened it, but I'm about to crack the seal and give it a spin. Thanks random stranger who sold it back!

Re: The VINYL Thread!

Picked up the Jake Bugg Live RSD release.

I had a mini Todd Rundgren phase this week and picked up Runt, Ballad of Todd Rundgren, and Faithful.

Other stuff I got:

Kate Bush - Lionheart
John Cale - Helen of Troy
King Crimson - In the Court... (nicer version than what I had for $10)

Got it from a third party Amazon seller for under $30. Still sealed.
