Re: What concert did you recently attend?
Last Friday I saw I MOTHER EARTH, reunited with old lead singer Edwin after 18 years - it was great. Last night I saw MOTION CITY SOUNDTRACK on their farewell tour before calling it quits - definitely fun but I don't think these guys have ever played a set longer than 80 minutes.

It's a long shot, but... has anyone been to the CHVRCHES-Death Cab for Cutie-SomeOtherBandDependingOnTheCity tour? I"m going here in CLT on Thursday, but I'm kind of alarmed by the setlists I'm seeing online. The opening act (here) is Pure Bathing Culture (which I kind of like, even if their music is kind of "samey"). I'm not much of a Death Cab fan, and the DCC setlists I'm seeing have 17 SONGS on them? How long are they playing?
It doesn't help that the info for this show has changed several times. Originally it was "CHVRCHES and Death Cab for Cutie at the Uptown Ampitheatre" at 7PM. Then it was "CHVRCHES, Death Cab for Cutie and Pure Bathing Culture at the Uptown Ampitheatre" at 6PM. Then it was "CHVRCHES, Death Cab for Cutie and Pure Bathing Culture at the Uptown Ampitheatre" at 7PM. Then it was "CHVRCHES, Death Cab for Cutie and Pure Bathing Culture at the Charlotte Metro Credit Union Ampitheatre" at 7PM. Then t was "Death Cab for Cutie with CHVRCHES and Pure Bathing Culture at the Charlotte Metro Credit Union Ampitheatre" at 7PM. Now I think it's "Stand Up to HB2 featuring Pure Bathing Culture, Death Cab for Cutie and CHVRCHES" at 7PM.

As usual, I could barely understand what Robert Smith was saying, except for him commenting on that and saying that he enunciates his words perfectly. The rest was all mumbling and "Kyou!" (One syllable "Thank you")

Rex, it sounds like Death Cab and CHVRCHES are co-headlining, and they could be choosing who closes the night. Both bands are hugely popular and they may be changing things up depending on the metrics that help them determine which band has more fans at any given show. Death Cab songs are mostly pretty short, so 17 would go by fast. If you check social media on the day of the show, sometimes bands will share what time they're scheduled to hit the stage.

As another poster stated, it is a co-headlining tour. I like all 3 bands, should be a good night. The LiveNation page for this event says: Doors 6pm. Show 7pm. So, I would assume set times are
PBC - 7pm-7:30pm
Chvrches - 8pm-9pm
DCFC - 9:30pm-11pm
Just call the venue day of and see if they can tell you the set times.

Anyone who saw The Cure on this tour... do you know when they've been hitting the stage? And is the opener worth checking out?

Concert started at 7:30 with the opening act The Twilight Sad, then The Cure went on at about an hour later. I caught a few songs from the opening band, but didn't think they were all that great. Not bad though, but I wouldn't have been upset if I missed them.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?
Saw The Cure last night---holy cow, fantastic show!
(Twilight Sad went on at 7:30, similar to The Cure, they were pretty good. Cure were playing by 8:20 or so)
Just about a perfect setlist for me:

What time did your ticket say? Going to the Garden tomorrow... Says 8.

Double check with the venue on those Cure times. They bumped the show I went to up a half an hour from the time on the ticket.

Cool. Thanks, guys. I'll give the Garden a call tomorrow too.

Yep, I wouldn't have been complaining if there were more from that one. I think they have been playing One Hundred Years on this tour. For me, The Cure are one of those rare bands where I like pretty much all of their eras equally. That said, I'd probably put Wish as my favorite album, so I was happy.

Dead & Company
6/14/16 - The Rose Music Center - Dayton, OH
Rather boring from a show standpoint - a lot of staring at hands and guitars. And it turned into somewhat of a John Mayer showoff for a while. Music did sound good (all Grateful Dead tunes), and the crowd was 'interesting' to watch.

Just got back from the John Carpenter show at The Orpheum in DTLA. Man, that was fucking awesome and one of the best shows I've been to in quite a while. We left the house later than I thought and the house lights came down right when we got to our seat and it was a 90-minute tour-de-force of his greatest scores along with some choice cuts off of both Lost Themes albums. Halloween and In the Mouth of Madness were my favorite. Fuck those merch lines - those lines were huge, so I guess I will be doing my additional JC vinyl shopping online.

What are good ticket sites? I know stubhub.com and ticketmaster has resale tickets sometimes. I was looking for a ticket to Radiohead at MSG. Ticketmaster doesn't have any and I'd like another source other than stubhub.
