Guns N' Roses
7/6/16 - Paul Brown Stadium (The Jungle ) - Cincinnati

Much better show than I was anticipating. Sounded great, everyone was into it, and Steven Adler showed up and played on 2 songs ("Out Ta Get Me" and "My Michelle")!

Went to the Taste of Chicago last night, steady rain started right when Elle King took the stage and continued through almost all of the Kongos before clearing up

Saw Dead & Company last night. Not a GD fan but it was a great experience. They sounded great and the crowd was awesome.

Saw them last night at Nissan Stadium in Nashville.
Very pleasantly surprised. Axel was in good shape and seemed to be enjoying himself. I was surprised at the leisurely pace of the show, 24 songs over almost 3 hours. Great finale with Paradise City and fireworks.

Basilica Black Party in downtown Minneapolis - 3 stages, but I focused on Philip Philips (who surprising rocked very well) and the underated Ryan Adams, who did a really good show with a lot of lively banter. Very real.

Flight of the Flippin' Conchords 07/09.

Next up, Weird Al, 07/12. Busy week for a guy who goes to maybe 2-3 concerts a year.

I'm SOOOOOOOO jealous. They weren't coming to Vegas.

Did they play some new stuff? Warming up for Season 3?

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

Darius Rucker with openers Dan + Shay and Michael Ray.

Darius Rucker is still very very good live and does a very nice mix of his newer country stuff, Hootie and the Blowfish classics and covers. Would definitely recommend.

Very surprising they didn't hit Vegas. They actually added a second show here in Austin. They played 13 songs, and most were "new" - meaning they were never on the show and made after their last album. One song I loved that I heard during Oddball Comedy tour in 2013 called 1353 was their finale for this show. When I looked it up on YouTube, they've been playing it since 2010. Good news is that they have a lot of material since the show ended, but they haven't put it on any albums yet.

And no, no word on a new season. I think tons of people were hoping to hear something.

Check out 1353. They had a bitching recorder finale at the end of show i was at.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

Went to see Guns N Roses at Gillette Stadium Tuesday night. My buddy bought me a ticket as a birthday present. Even suffering from gout in both feet, I made it to the show and had a blast. It was an amazing show. Sold out, Axl was in great voice, Slash was on fire, crowd was pumped. They came on at 8:30 and played until a little past 11:15 which was the curfew set by the town. Axl even joked about the show being on time at one point. I have seen them several times dating back to 1988 and this show ranked right at the top of them. Maybe 2nd best behind the 1991 show. If you are a fan, go see the show, it is worth it.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

Hall & Oates / Trombone Shorty / Sharon Jones
7/20/16 - Riverbend, Cincinnati, OH

H&O mostly played their hits with a couple jams along the way. Trombone Shorty was a highlight. First time I've seen or heard of him and I'm now a fan. Highly recommend him.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

Saw Slayer at the House of Blues here in San Diego last night for their Comic Con performance. Great show but man I wish they would have changed up their setlist and threw in a few surprises.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

Korn/Rob Zombie @ Irvine Meadows last night.

Lawn tickets were only $20 and it's 15 min from my house. Thanks to some very minor Photoshop skills, I also made up some fake Orch tickets so I could watch the show from a proper vantage.

Irvine Meadows is my favorite venue of all time and I am beyond upset that it's being torn down next year. Such a loss, all for more shitty housing.

Gwen Stefani and Eve on 7/24. Fun show with Gwen playing all of her solo hits and some by No Doubt. My pics from the show:

Distrurbed / Breaking Benjamin / Alter Bridge / Saint Asonia
7/27/16 - Riverbend, Cincinnati, OH

StubHub tix on date of show again - good stuff, great way to go for shows you'd 'like to see', but aren't on the 'have to see' list.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?

Dixie Chicks on Saturday night. Great show, the Chicks were in top form. Where else are you going to hear covers of Bob Dylan, Patty Griffin, Prince, Fleetwood Mac and Motorhead. Ok, so Ace of Spades wasn't live, but they recorded a pretty wicked bluegrass version to go with a Road Warrior meets Sin City video during a stage/set change.

The openers were really good as well, neither of which I had heard of before but will be rounding up some music from both:

Smooth Hound Smith, Zack Smith playing guitar, drums and harmonica (sometimes all at once) and singing as well. Kind of a rockabilly/blues/country hyrbid.

Vintage Trouble, from the suits to the old school mic, singer has some serious pipes that fit their throwback rhythm and blues.
