Of course I was pointing out a contradiction.

I assumed that the first post was a joke back then, as well as today. Does this really need a lengthy explanation? You see, there's a joke in the Honest Trailer about people who insist it's the worst movie ever, without having seen it (arguably the crux of most discussion about this damn movie). Your joke post, and your follow-up today made for a decent pairing of this idea, so I rolled with it. Figured you'd catch on, and not make me lay it all out for you, like they do with half the jokes in the movie (the whole "See, this is funny because we'll tell you why it's funny, and are you laughing yet? are you? Let us explain it further so we can make sure you're laughing.")
Poor attempt at humor? Sure. The fun has left the forum!!*
*(that, too, was a poor joke. A call-back if you will. Let's not ruin it by explaining it away, eh?)

Personally, I generally hate stupid humor. To be good, stupid humor has to have something clever or witty about it, even though it's stupid. I'm still not seeing anything new from the new clips that are even the slightest bit witty or clever.
But there are a lot of comedies out there that I can't stand that are popular, so I'm sure it's subjective to a point. I just really cant stand the lowest common denominator brand of comedy when it is witless and completely lacking in anything clever. Stupid for the sake of stupid (Dumb and Dumber being a great example) is just stupid, not funny. ("Where are my glasses? Where are my glasses! Oh, they're in my hand!" Comic genius. Riiiiiiiiight.)

Halloween update: I just watched 685 elementary school kids parade around the school. I counted 15 Ghostbusters, most of them girls, however not a single kid wore the new costume with the orange stripes. So long live the great original film!

^Could it be that parents just grabbed whatever "Ghostbusters" costumes they found on sale, and didn't discern between old and new, and that there were plenty of old models in inventory from years past?

It's also a PG-13 movie and parents are pussies these day.
PG needs to stop being G and PG-13 needs to stop getting overused.

I finally saw this thing on a flight this morning. I'm genuinely puzzled at everything people were whining about. It was a fun, entertaining movie that, while not breaking any new ground, honored the spirit of the original in a very positive way.
I still love the original. The remake, while ultimately unnecessary, still made for a very good flick. And those dudes who think this movie is somehow "anti-men" need to hike up their manties a bit...

I found it much more generally amusing than laugh-out-loud funny, but it was a lot funnier than the trailers made it seem. Leslie Jones, in particular, came off infinitely better in the film than she did as the shrieking caricature the trailer made her out to be.

Oh, no doubt, Patty was the best character of the 4. But not because she was funny. I just found the others' jokes to be forced and tedious, where Patty was someone I could relate to because it felt natural.

I had a free weekend of movie channels recently and recorded this to finally see how bad it was. Good lord it was even worse than i imagined. I laughed once (the guy giving the bird in an inventive way to the women....and exactly how i felt throughout the movie). Everything is just horrible about the movie. The characters are detestable, the story is non-existent, the way the team gets together and even makes its equipment is pitiful, amazing to think the effects in a movie over 30 years old are still better than what is shown here. The "laughs" are at best cringe worthy and at worst retarded. I like Wiig and she is the only actress worth watching, but again her character has zero going for it and the audience has no interest or investment in her what so ever. The other 3.....what can i say. I repeatedly wanted to smash my TV. Kate Mckinon seems to think that being zany makes for a comedic genius. Its nauseous. McCarthy and Jones just do their usual shtick which has never been funny.
And then we have the cameos. Bill Murray kept saying no to doing Ghostbusters 3 for years, but agrees to do this turdfest? And the less said about Dan Akroyd the better. Hell they even took a catchy classic 80s pop song and turned into 21st Century R&B/Rap/Pop bullshit.
I got to see this movie for free (ok i pay for cable....but you get what i am saying) and i feel like the makers of this pile of crap owe me for the 90 or whatever minutes i wasted of my life. When i was younger i would be happy to see any movie, no matter how bad, just for the sake of seeing it. As i get older i realize that life is so full that i should be more selective. This movie underlines, bolds and puts in Font size 50000 that sentiment.

I thought the extended version had more "bite" and a better flow, and scenes came together much better. Also, Kristen Wiig appears to have more screen time than McCarthy in the extended version. The theatrical version is missing stuff I thought was actually amusing. I'd rate the extended 3.75/5

And i am not trying to re-open the flood gates of hatred and women bashing that this thread had in the past. There were many to blame for the mess of this movie, starting with the writers.
