I suppose we can try this again for a 3rd time...
There will be a zero tolerance policy for sexist jokes in the thread. Suspensions will be given. If you think somebody is making sexist jokes, report the post rather than calling out the person directly. If you continually attack other posters and derail the thread, suspensions will be given.
Moderators do not read every thread and usually only jump in when there are reported posts.
If someone feels the need to discuss sexism until their blue in the face, start a Sexism in Film in the Otter forum.

I'm going to see this movie and I think I will enjoy it more than not. Also, IBTL.

Anyone else going to see the original film today? They're including a sneak peek of this, which I assume means some sort of EPK or maybe an entire scene or something.
Should be fun

As much as I want to go see the original tonight, I will not support Sony over the summer for this reboot. I will wait until the fall when the Alamo Drafthouse usually shows it in 35mm. I am not attacking anyone or saying anything wrong with this post.

I've got no problem watching my copy of the original. I also don't really have a problem going to see the original in the theater.

isn't this the 4th try? the "ghostbusters - the trailer" thread was closed twice, no? that's gotta be some kinda record for a movie 'round these parts.

Like most of the cast, like the director, dislike Feig's co-screenwriter (if The Heat was any indication).

I still haven't seen any footage that makes me want to see this in theaters, but if reviews are very positive that will get me to go.

Was it done by Fathom Events also? Did you find it was worth the money? I've never been to a Fathom showing (almost went to Halloween a couple of years ago), but I've heard it's pretty fun to see the older movies on the big screen.

And, really, I'm about as excited about a Ghostbusters remake (male or female) as I would be about a Back to the Future remake. Maybe slightly more open to a GB reboot than BTTF, but not a lot.

Re: Ghostbusters (2016, D: Feig)
The sneak peek was nothing special. Just a 5 minute behind the scenes deal. Some stuff we obviously didn't see in the trailers, but mostly just the cast and Feig talking about it. It was AFTER the credits, by the way, not before the original film.
Still, I think it looks decent enough for me to go opening weekend.
Yes, this was a Fathom Events thing. The upside was no trailers.

Just got a pitch to have Ernie Hudson on the talk show I produce the week this movie opens. It'll be interesting to get his take on all of this.
