I like how he put unexpected in quotes as if to suggest something sinister on Oswalt's part.

BECAUSE HE TWEETED THAT HE LIKED A MOVIE.

But seriously, TGM, you just lapped bluelitespecial in vileness. I'd put you on ignore, but it seems you can't do that to people with 3 letter names.

Don't believe so, no. He was off for a while.

This thread is turrible. Why did a Ghostbusters thread bring out the worst in people?

Wow ... I think I would like to nominate these threads (this and all the locked ones before) for Thread of the Year. Not that they are that good, but because they are that fucked up and surreal.

I really liked her part in Spy, at least up until she got out in the field and became loud and vulgar. What little I've seen of Gilmore Girls, I also liked her role there. I prefer her in those ways, hopefully she starts doing more of them like that.

Thanks, I stand corrected then. I just remembered hearing she died, then the AVGN clip came out. They seemed pretty close, just not as close as I though.

Oswalt saying it's good gives me some hope because he is a geeky guy, but by the same token I listen to his opinion about as much as Kevin Smith's. Meaning they constantly say stuff is good pre-release that is received less than favorably.

I also was wondering why Sony wasn't publishing reviews already since it comes out in a week and it would be a good way to quiet the haters. Apparently though there's a review embargo till release day so that isn't a good sign.

Still doesn't get you off the hook for posting the pic of his dead wife as Slimer. Classy as fuck.

It's a joke, calm down buttercup. Yes, I'm an asshole, and I'm comfortable with that.

The embargo ends the Sunday morning before the US release.

It may have been a bad joke and in poor taste, but can everyone stop acting like they are deeply offended and move on?

I hope you have a similar sense of humor if someone you care about dies. Christ, attacking the movie is one thing, but you realize she was a real person, right? With a husband and a kid. A real person with a husband and a kid who had nothing to do with this movie?

When did the entire internet end up somewhere on the spectrum?

Thank you.

Why? Because it makes your "side" look bad? You're in absolutely no position to tell people when to stop acting offended.

Re: Ghostbusters (2016, D: Feig)

I clearly remember a tweet like 5 hours after her reported death that was completely inappropriate, so much so that I was taken aback by it and discussed it with some friends that very day. I'd try to find it if I cared enough to prove it to the people of DVDtalk... which I don't.

The fuck are you even talking about? No, because it's going to derail this thread yet AGAIN and it's going to end up in yet another closed thread.

Acting offended details the thread? The offensive comment itself is off the hook?

When the thread gets locked again the fault will lie squarely in the shoulders of the people making jokes about Patton Oswalt's dead wife.

What about Prince, was he a real person? Patton had no problem mocking his death the day after he died. Fuck Patton Oswalt.

Oswalt was a well-known Prince fan and there was no malice in his joke. You can't honestly say that about the joke you posted. It didn't come from a positive place.

Because it's phony. You're not really offended. Sure, you act like everything is offensive to you so you can derail everything and holler from your soap box. But do we really need this to go on for several more pages now, with you scolding everyone for their insensitivity and bigotry? Because that is what will happen, as history has proven.
