Yeah theaters are dead. Everyone would rather stay home.

For a movie that's been long delayed and had no publicity that seems like a decent amount of money for Bikeriders. I've read reviews saying it's actually pretty good.

I was hoping Bikeriders would have a bigger opening -- it has been heavily promoted on television. But with DVR, VoD, etc; I dunno how many people actually see those ads anymore.

All this teaches Disney is they need more sequels which isn't a good thing in the long run.

They know their sequels are goldmines but also know how quickly people will turn on them if they don't deliver.

I won't speak for any other location but the only cinema complex in one hundred kilometres of me closed for the last time today.

I saw Bad Boys a second time today. Was deciding between that and Bikeriders, but I opted for something fun and familiar.
I’ll try to get around to Bikeriders in the next week.

Hey, question --- did boxofficemojo give up on providing weekly box office totals commentary?

Inside Out 2 doing this well should mean good things for DM4 as well (and probably Moana later). If so, cool.

Strong weekend for Inside Out and AQP (franchise best opening). Horizon did as expected, I imagine they will rush that one to streaming to get a leg up for Part II.

I have to believe they thought Horizon could do a little better than that figure. I guess they hope it has a long life on home video.

Did Horizon bomb harder than Waterworld and the Postman?
I heard stories Costner is not really a nice guy so maybe he deserved it?

Waterworld cost $175m and opened at $21m domestic but did well overseas. Total: $88.3m US / $176m International // $264.3m total.
The Postman cost $80m to make and opened to $5.2m (domestic) on opening weekend. Total: $17.7m domestic / $3.2m international // $20.8m total
Horizon cost $100m for movie #1 and #2. It made $11m (domestic) on opening weekend for #1.
The Postman is his biggest singular flop.
