That box office success is going to push Sydney Sweeney into the A-list. People turned out to see her in it. Her next payday is going to be huge.

She also pushed it harder than anyone on social, she deserves a bonus for that alone.

Slow weekend but good holds for Beekeeper, Wonka, Anyone But You and Migration. Poor Things still can't really find its legs but I can't say it's entirely unexpected, it was up only 19% despite more than doubling it's theater count this weekend.
Finishing outside of this list were Origin and Inside the Yellow Cocoon Shell, which were the highest per theater averages for the weekend.

Anyone But You has had some really good legs. I think I’m the only one in this forum who saw it.

THE COLOR PURPLE seems to have dropped off the list entirely.

Notably terrible weekend for the box office, forgot Dune was back.

Weekend estimates as of Sunday morning. Dune 2 doubled Dune's opening weekend. Lot of TV episodes making their way to the big screen over the last month (Chosen, Demon Slayer)

With Dune and then the new Ghostbusters in March hopefully that boosts revenue for movie theaters.

Dune’s longevity will also depend on those who want to see it multiple times and premium screens. I saw it last Sunday in IMAX and really enjoyed it. But, a nearly 3 hour movie is tough to make time for, let alone a second time.

Updated for final numbers. Early presales for next weekend are suggesting Dune 2 will have legs.

Dune 2 looks to be making $44m this weekend for a 47% drop, very impressive. King Fu Panda will top at around $55m. Looks like the Box Office is back in full force this year.

Re: The Official Box Office Discussion Thread
44% drop on Dune 2 is pretty phenomenal. Families starved for something finally got out this weekend as well. D2 is now at $367m worldwide,

I have no interest in seeing Arthur the King in the theater. And thank God the trailer is finally going away.
Reviews aren't bad. It's mostly positive. I might watch it on a lazy afternoon at home if I happen to come across it on something I subscribe to already.

Good start for Ghostbusters, another strong hold for Dune 2 and a terrific start for an IFC release in Late Night with the Devil (About triple their highest grossing previous release which was Watcher).
