Seeing Mad Max again.
1:45 showing for 2D...the damn theater is packed. 100% full. Jesus. I've been seeing the seats fill up. So many people for Max. Good thing I came in early.

Re: Mad Max: Fury Road (Miller, 2015) — The Reviews Thread
Just went to see it and loved every minute. More than made up for Thunderdome, which I liked but failed to live up to the Road Warrior's intensity. I became excited for this film as soon as I found out Hardy would be Max. Having Toecutter play the big bad was a great homage to the original film. I don't understand the controversy over the strong female characters. There was Virginia Hey in Road Warrior and Tina Turner in Thunderdome. Miller just took it a step further. Miller did well. I had a great time. I'm hoping for more.

Any of the yelled/screamed dialogue (especially during the opening sequence) was difficult to understand, though it didn't diminish what was going on.
Despite that, I absolutely loved it. Just a non-stop adrenaline rush....

I saw this yesterday and I'm stunned it's got a 98% rating on RT. Yeah, it's got great visuals, but I didn't care at all about any characters or the story. They could have called Theron's character Mad Maxine and it would have made more sense. I've already forgotten Hardy was even in this. Probably won't re-visit this movie anytime soon. For me, it was 110 minutes of loud, incoherent noise.

I'm giving it 5 stars, it's 1 or 1A with Inception as my favorite movie since Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Good for that BO. We all gush over the movie. But I was afraid it was going to be a movie (like Dredd) that nobody goes to see.
The villains were scary and intimidating. The good guys weren't always prepared and had to figure things out along the way - and that felt dangerous. Not a formula we see much anymore.

I've never been a Gibson fan. Much like Cruise, he's been in films that got my attention. He himself has never motivated my interest in seeing a film.
