The Wolf of Snow Hollow (2020) Comedy, Horror, and Mystery.was it asshole cop comedy? not recommended
Dinner in America (2020)hidden gem .highly recommended. try to avoid reading the storyline as I did, it gives away too much, spoilers
Glass Onion (2022) For me it started off well but did not care for the second half.
Neo Ned (2005): stars Jeremy Renner recommended
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent (2022) highly recommended

Dante's Peak (1997) - rewatch
I first saw this in it's theatrical run, then some time later on cable, but it's been probably 15 years since I had last seen it. I liked it on first viewing, and I still find it entertaining. It's nothing amazing, but a fun watch. It was part of the wave of disaster movies in the late nineties that made great use of the expanding abilities of CGI technology, and the visuals largely hold up considering their age. Pierce Brosnan's career was peaking around this time (no pun intended)--he was in the middle of his run as James Bond and The Thomas Crown Affair would come out in a couple of years--and this is probably Linda Hamilton's highest-profile non-Terminator movie. Both stars are good in this and their characters' budding romance is charming without being overdone. The movie employs a lot of traditional disaster movie tropes, but their familiarity is welcome and it's actually kind of fun spotting them. There are a bunch of "that guy" character actors among the townspeople and scientists. The action all wraps up a little too neatly in the end, but that's to be expected in this kind of flick.

I am a big Russell Crowe fan but this movie kind of sucked
I wonder why he chose this if he wanted to direct?

Smile (2022) — Some creepy moments for sure and a decent performance from Sosie Bacon, this is just another supernatural-horror film that I didn't find terribly entertaining and is pretty predictable. I suppose there are worse ways to spend two hours and since it's on Paramount+, maybe it's worth the time especially if you're a fan of these sorts of films. ***/***** (4K Ultra HD)

I am not a huge horror buff but Smile was ok for a Tues or Wed night movie and Bacon was great.
I assume they will make a ton of sequels for it and they will all be crap.

Yummy (2019)
A Belgian Zombie film that feels like its 15 years too late.
Outside of a hilarious dick joke and its setting (a Eastern European Plastic Surgery Hospital), the film is absolutely forgettable.

The Witch In The Window (2018)
While I appreciate the amount of character development in the film, anchored by solid performances from Alex Draper & Charles Everett Tucker, the film consistently forgets that it should be scary as well.

The Collingswood Story (2002)
I'm a sucker for Found Footage films but this particular one was a reminder that being an early film in the sub-genre, doesn't automatically make it enjoyable.
The final 12-minutes or so are interesting but sitting through the first 70-minutes is a bit rough.

M3GAN (2022)
Director Gerard Johnstone's film absolutely hilarious and very self-aware.
Also, after her work penning the script for Malignant (2021), Akela Cooper's bonkers scripts are definitely ones worth following from here on.

Puss In Boots: The Last Wish (2022)
I admittedly have not cared heavily for the Shrek series since the initial sequel in 2004.
Absolutely loved this film. The shift in animation style is long overdue and yields beautiful results.

HBO
With Lola Kirke and Zoe Kravitz
It has some cool cinemography of LA at night and seeing John Cho was a pleasant surprise but a forgettable movie

Meh. I thought both leads were decent, but the overall story was somewhat of a letdown.

Given the subject matter, I shouldn't be surprised that this was quite unpleasant...
