The Menu…What an utterly captivating, intriguing, marvel of a film.
I had no idea of the plot or anything, just that there were horror elements.
From the beginning it seemed like a Knives Out tale.
This was just marvelous. Everything about it absolutely clicked.
I won’t spoil anything here, but this is a must see!
Fiennes and Taylor-Joy played so well off each other. It was something to behold.
I think this takes my top spot of the year. Just ahead of Top Gun: Maverick.

Starz
It came out in 2007 but the Prestige which came out a year earlier is the better magic or magician movie.
Saorse Ronan who was also in the cast and a kid back then is a bigger star now than Zeta Jones and Guy Pearce.
I know they were con artists but Ronan in brown face and wearing a turban in one scene?
WTF?

Missing in Action 2: The Beginning (1985) — Pretty much more of the same copying elements from the Rambo series. I still found it moderately entertaining as Chuck Norris was fun to watch and the pyrotechnics were pretty good. Competently made but nothing all that memorable. ***/***** (Blu-ray)

The Wonder — (NetFlix) Great period piece with lots of monsters - religion, culture, elders, money/fame grabbers and even the family.

Strange Days
The Menu
It's kind of funny that both star Ralph Fiennes and his hairline. He had great hair in Strange Days and has hardly any in The Menu.

Cinemax
Maybe a precursor to his Hulu show Dope
Maybe one of those movies I thought was great initially but just ok after a second or third viewing.

Hulu
Maybe Tomei wanted to look old for this movie but a different role for her in this average murder mystery.
Travis Fimmel and Paul Walter Hauser are also in this.

It was just meh
I thought Michael Kenneth Williams would have had a bigger role.

Christmas Bloody Christmas (2022)
I absolutely loathe the films of Director/Writer Joe Begos and his most recent film is no different.
Outside of a few interesting kills, the film is repetitive to the point of nausea.
How could a Horror film about a killer robotic Santa Claus be so un-fun?

Thale (2012)
Although I'm largely unfamiliar with the Scandinavian Folklore this film anchor by (Hulder), considering its budget, it was largely enjoyable due to the performance by Silje Reinåmo.
Outside that, CGI is rough and the plot isn't always necessarily coherent or engaging.

The Dark and The Wicked (2020)
Much like Director/Writer Bryan Bertino's 2008 film The Strangers, grief & tragedy bring a pair of characters (siblings in this case) to a single location where spooky things happen.
The issue is, outside being shot well and having solid performances from its main cast, the film isn't spooky and feels incredibly generic on multiple fronts.

A important story and feel bad for the real life people who suffered but the movie was not really entertaining
