So........does Leatherface take on a County Fair in this one? I thought I saw him aproaching a ferris wheel in the commercial. SHit, that sounds hilariously awesome in such a bad way.

I can't wait to see this. Looks pretty cool to me.

I was a fan of the New Line update from 2003. Haven't seen the prequel yet, although I did blind buy it for cheap a few months after it came out.

Sign me up for the bitching and moaning.

I can't wait to see this train wreck. I'm expecting a heaping scoop of epic awfulness.

What a waste of time if you are going to follow up the original and then
Spoiler:
Kill off the entire family except for Leatherface in the first scenes of the movie.

I like to do my bitching and moaning after the morning poop. Gives me a chance to get my bitchy thoughts together after a good night's sleep and poop.

Just sprinkle some flax seeds on your popcorn and you'll be bitching and moaning by 12:10AM at the earliest.

My guess is that this is not the one you want to start with.

I liked the 2003 update.

The old 1974 original is super low budget and feels more like a snuff film.

I suggest doing some homework. Watch the original Tobe Hooper classic.

Then the sequel.

Skip the 2003 remake packaged for the McDonald's crowds. It's pointless and crappy.

The prequel to the remake is just the remake of the remake, except with a lot more obnoxious R. Lee Ermy improv.

Go to the original first two. Just a suggestion.

Part 2...The Cannon Films/Golan and Globus Production is just a weird movie. It's more like a horror dark comedy. Dennis Hopper's character is so over the top.

Which is why it did its job in making you feel very uneasy and shaken.

My wife and I will be seeing this for free in 3D. As much as I like horror and Leatherface, I just can't see myself doling out much money to see this.

It's one of my favorite horror films, because it's so unique in tone, completely over the top... and of course features the iconic Bill Moseley as Chop Top.

Music is his life.

So this one disregards everything except the original. It's amusing to me how franchises choose to re-boot themselves from whatever point is the most convenient. (I.E. Superman Returns only acknowledging I and II , though it only seemed like I ).

Less than 24 hours away until we can sink our teeth into this one and see if it tastes like shit.

No reviews as of yet, but it's going to get pummeled.

Either way as a completist, I'll check it out, but I think it COULD be as bad as The Next Generation.

Re: Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D (2012, some hack)

If this turns out to be true
Spoiler:
That Leatherface's cousin, Heather, actually sides with him and helps him fight back against the mayor and the townpeople trying to cover everything up I am going to be pissed. If this is a true followup to the original then I think it ruins the overall story somewhat.

At least with Chainsaw 2 they kept the family, they stayed crazy and they didn't try to explain anything away. Yes, Dennis Hopper played it to the extreme but he was going against a cannibal clan that murdered one of his family members
