who cares how the Dr. saw it. he didn't post how or any info relating to it in anyway shape or form and thus no proof either way and thus who the hell cares.
if it was his first post ever and made some mention then of course berate away and typical trolling, but for a member who has been around awhile and simply stated an opinion as to finally seeing a movie and enjoying, i think the criticisms are totally unfounded and i thought we had more respect for the older members here.

It matters how he saw it. That's loss of profit for the filmmakers that deserve that profit. And they do for this film.
IF he did see it torrent..that's not cool. But if he saw it in some dollar theater...that's cool.
Care to tell us HOW you saw it though, Dr?

I expected to see this get bumped after a certain release came out this weekend, and was not disappointed.

This is a really good film and of course it should've done better at the box office. I'll be purchasing the disc when it comes out.
That being said, I am stunned to see multiple people jumping on someone for how or where they watched this.
I'm guessing these folks have never downloaded an MP3 or anything in their life before.

If this didn't do well as to box office, that's just stupid.

exactly my point. i don't care if he downloaded it, i was just pointing out the fact that he didn't understand how the film didn't do well at the box office. which is why i bolded that portion of his post.Originally Posted by The Cow

We all know Dr. Mabuse torrented the movie and projected it onto a screen that was sewn together from the flesh stripped off of 9/11 Widows' backs. While drinking American beer. And in fullscreen. How we even think of tolerating this abhorrent deviancy is a tale of such staggering woe that it hardly abides the telling.

Pretty close, but you forgot the part about bitching that if people didn't pay for it then it's just stupid. Originally Posted by Hokeyboy

Is there a way to give rep on this board? Originally Posted by Hokeyboy

there is no possible excuse you can make for the illegal downloading of music or films, the people that created thier work have every right to get paid for itOriginally Posted by Throwing Copper

Hell, even if he did torrent it I suppose no sane person would admit it now.

Um, you guys realize the film is available to rent already, right? That's how he probably saw it.

Here in Puerto Rico there's a rental chain called First Video. They've had it for about a week. They usually coincide with the rental schedules of Blockbuster and mom & pop rentals so I'm surprised you guys think it's unlikely someone could have just rented it.Originally Posted by riotinmyskull

That's because it's not available to rent anywhere in actual America yet. Is the good Doctor a citizen of Puerto Rico?Originally Posted by RocShemp

Sorry to burst your bubble but PR is part of "actual America" (whatver the hell that means). We usually get things the same day as the continental US or slightly after. The only things we get early (and it's not always the case) are theatrical releases. And even then it's only one day early.Originally Posted by Dragon Tattoo

Pointing out the irony of somebody lamenting how undeservedly poorly a movie did at the box office when that person likely pirated the movie is completely reasonable. Doing so with so much venom, such that it completely derails the thread? Not so much.

This thread has gone stupid.
Shame this movie didn't do better, it's perhaps one of the most creative flicks to come out in the last 10 years. Alas, this is about par for the course in terms of great movies getting the shaft. But then, when the filmgoing public has a choice between Scott Pilgrim and Vampires Suck, it's sadly obvious who is going to win, and very little will change that.
That said, this will probably play a lot better at home once it's available, and I'm sure it'll make its money back from blu-ray/dvd sales alone.
