Re: Human Centipede (What?)
Anyone interested in seeing this in the Austin area... it's opening for a full theatrical run (however long that'll be, lol) at the Alamo Drafthouse @ Ritz starting on May 7th.
I'll be ordering the chili!

Damn....I hate to say it but the flick actually looks somewhat effective....still not sure I would really want to put myself through seeing it though:

Maybe this movie isn't the big joke we thought it was and the only reason we made fun of it is deep down, we found it disturbing as hell and didn't really want to discuss it? I have to say that transmorgification (sp?) can, IMO, be just as terrifying as any grisly death, as it typically involves being turned into something you don't want to be, and the whimpering of the young girls really drives that home.
However, I will say that last shot of the "human centipede" so to say was not that convincing.

I just saw the trailer and... I don't get it. It looks like a Troma movie (horrible acting and a retarded plot) but with none of the humour.

Re: Human Centipede (What?)
It actually looks like a pretty tense thriller, but what the hell?!
Ok, he's a demented surgeon, but why the hell would anyone want to create a human centipede? A plot where he harvested appendages from other bodies and attached them to one torso would have been more believable and even then...

I guess that's kind of what is keeping me from getting too into this myself. The whole thing, while tense, looks more likes it's just trying to cash in on the torture porn craze. I will say that the actor playing the doctor definitely has the whole Bela Lugosi thing going, from the time he made movies with Ed Wood.

I'll wait for it to be released on DVD.
It's one of those movies that's better viewed when snuggling with a significant other on the couch while sharing popcorn.

I posted on Twitter how I wanted to throw a viewing party the moment it becomes on demand. When I came home, my roommate told me that, and I quote, "You can count me the fuck out when you do that."
Even if most of the film's reviews call the flick out for being complete garbage, I still want to see it.

Re: Human Centipede (What?)
Demitri Martin made a joke about a human centipede seating arrangement on planes on last week's "Important Things." His drawing looked pretty much like the descriptions I've read for this movie.

I respect that honesty!
Looking forward to it!
