It is playing a midnight weekend gig here in a few weeks. I've also recently read about Serbian Movie, which has piqued my interest despite even the most weathered gorehounds warnings against it.

I did too. Glad I did as I doubt I will take the time to watch the movie as apparently
Spoiler:
Furthermore, as opposed to trying to make something truly scary and disturbing, that summary just gives off the vibe that it wants to be gross for the sake of being gross.

Many of the articles I've read it say other than the stitches on each of the persons' mouths, not much is really shown.

For those of you who live near San Francisco, the dates for the Bay Area showings are up.
May 7th + May 8th @ The Bridge Theater (Midnight Showing)
I have plans both days, but I might have to cancel my May 7th plans to see this

Re: Human Centipede (What?)
Just saw the movie. It's a simple concept, simply told. You get to see a 3-person "human centipede," and the maniac who creates it, in a battle for survival with a couple of stupid cops in a giant house in the middle of nowhere. The actresses' performances aren't very good but that's understandable considering what sports they had to be......but the guy who plays the maniac is amazing. If Lance Henriksen and Udo Kier had a love child, it would be this guy. It's shot very well on a small budget and you can't beat an original premise these days.....

Re: Human Centipede (What?)
Even though the maniac is German, and the centipede is made out of one Japanese guy (from Osaka, given his dialect) and two American girls, the film doesn't really exploit history to the extent it could have. The Japanese guy calls the German a Nazi at one point but obviously we're not dealing with a WWII vet.
Also, the film is quite restrained in odd ways. There is nudity but in no way exploitative, and the violence level is small-scale, with a lot happening offscreen. Technically, this could be an R-rated film but its bizarre concept and vague indirect satirical tone could make this a glossy Texas Chain Saw Massacre-type of film.....more notorious for its title and its suggestive quality than anything else.

After viewing the trailer, I think this looks more like the plot of a South Park episode featuring the Marlon Brando like doctor who wanted to graft butts on everything.
