Saw Grindhouse opening weekend (and I never go to the theater anymore) and I will see this opening weekend!

1.) Rodriguez never understood how to make a "grindhouse" movie; Planet Terror was a parody, if anything.

2.) Machete is intended to be Mexploitation; so exploiting illegal immigration as a Mexican issue is equivalent to Blacksploitation often exploiting pimps as heroes. However, as fun as this movie looks, it appears to be straying into pure parody territory.

How come nobody's mentioning Michelle Rodriguez?

I was pissed Seagal said no to The Expendables but I'm glad he said yes to this. But he and Trejo better be in The Expendables 2, dammit!

But I'm disappointed she looks overly skinny like she did in Fast & Furious. I prefer her looking curvy like she did in Avatar.

I'm amazed how close the new trailer is to the original Grindhouse trailer. Although I do wish they had managed to coax Alba and Lohan into recreating the topless pool scene...

I read that Lohan is topless at some point in the movie. Was that just an internet rumor?

Don't know, but if she is, that will be a warm-up for her next role where she will portray Linda Lovelace.

A rumour based on the fact that her character apparently is one of the chicks from the hot tub in the original fake trailer.

Damn, didn't know De Niro or Segal was in this.......looks excellent - While there is definitely a lot of ham going on....it still looks really well made.

and I still love the tagline from the original Faux trailer:

"They just fucked with the wrong Mexican"

And also, about the comments saying the illegal trailer is a political statement...Please show some fucking respect as Machete set aside some personal time to create this special Cinco De Mayo message.

I support this film so much I plan on sneaking into the theater to watch it.

That guy's deep-read articulation of the trailer is going to provoke more violence that the movie itself.

It's a straight-faced silly movie.

I'll be suprised (and in awe ... and maybe slightly scared when leaving the theater hehe) if it stays mean and doesn't have some South Parki-ish message towards the end.

I think she's probably had enough warm-up for that in real life.

I hope this guy never sees Black Dynamite.

Alex Jones is pretty hysterical, and gets nutty with the globalist conspiracy theories.. he's also one of those 9/11 "truthers".

But, to a certain extent I agree with his sentiment and will not be seeing this movie. As a child of hispanic immigrants who were welcomed to this country and found a far better life, I found the shit spewed in the trailer to be completely despicable. This is one hispanic who wants nothing to do with that "border crossed us" bullshit. If I didn't know better, I'd think this movie was made by the klan to turn people against Mexicans.
